I rewatched it, Blondie clearly on the back foot showing a calm down body language, trying to get away, the gay dude with an aggressive stance coming at him trying to block him off, hands looking ready to throw, dude hits him then runs away, showing the court he is still scared.He gets off easy.

I don't think he will get convicted. I think it will be pretty easy for the defense to paint a picture in which all the conditions were there for his client to be harmed. You don't have to wait to be hit if you can articulate the aggressive behavior of the other person. The video is good evidence and if the dude actually invited him to throw the first punch... oh well...
