HITCHCOCK'S ... Rope ..... A single N.Y. apartment set filmed and edited so as to appear as a single continuous shot through the use of long takes.

Often thought to be one continuous shot, but it ain't.

ALfred' first technicolor film.

It was impossible to have a take longer than 10 minutes in 1950.  A thousand foot magazine of 35 mm film would only last 10 minutes.

Now with electronic cinematography you can literally make a film all in one take.
See: "Russian Ark"  It took 4 tries to do that.
