I pinched a nerve bad in my neck. My entire right arm, right lat and right pec faded into oblivion.

Took a good year for muscle to come back but my right side is maybe 70%. It’s all fucked but as a normal average Joe it’s not as obvious now.

It looks like the same thing to me but he might be filling his arm with oil to hide the loss of size which is why it looks like a cheese stick.

This looks a lot like a case of what's known as Neurogenic atrophy.

This is a form of muscular atrophy that occurs when you have a disease or injury to the nerve(s) that connect to a muscle. When you have Neurogenic atrophy you tend to see very quick muscle atrophy with this "empty balloon" look that he is sporting.

Some possible causes for Neurogenic atrophy include (listed from most likely to less likely):

Most likely:

• Nerve damage caused by injury, diabetes, toxins, or alcohol - I would heavily lean on this. An injury to numerous cervical nerve roots can do this, but what exact injury I am not sure. Possible site injections anyone? But again, I don't know the guy personally to know what type of possible site injections he could have performed and if these injections could have led to localized nerve trauma throughout the right arm. I wonder if Esiclene would behave like a toxin? But again I don't know the guy and this is merely speculation.
• Long-term corticosteroid therapy to cervical spine - Could be this, as this can cause permanent neurologic deficit due to spinal cord or nerve root damage.

Less likely:

• Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig disease) - Doubt it's this as he would likely be on a ventilator by now or dead
• Damage to a single nerve, such as carpal tunnel syndrome - Cervical radiculopathy can result with pain and weakness to only one side of the body (i.e. only one arm), but it's typically caused by a "pinched nerve" that with surgery can be resolved. Doubt it's this as there's no reason why he couldn't get surgery to repair this.
• Guillain-Barré syndrome - GBS can and does usually start by affecting one side of the body, but it typically starts from the legs and moves up to the upper extremities. There is potential for this, but with good treatment in the form of plasma exchange and immunoglobulin therapy, there's no reason why this wouldn't have been handled. Moreover, don't think I've ever read about any cases of GBS only affecting one arm and the rest of the extremities on that same side remain the same. Doubt this is/was the reason.
• Polio (poliomyelitis) - Doubt he caught Polio that only affected his right arm, not to mention that poliomyelitis would typically cause temporary or permanent paralysis.
• Spinal cord injury - Doubt it, this typically would result with some level of paralysis to the limb given the advanced muscle atrophy displayed.
• Multiple Sclerosis - Doubt it as weakness of one arm without leg weakness is uncommon.

Anyway, this is all speculation and guesses from your friendly neighborhood accountant, so don't trust anything I say.

I had sciatic during covid and my left calf stopped firing, it was withering away, I couldnt do anything about it
I couldnt even get my heel off the floor onto my tiptoes
After I finally got some treatment for my back I had to slowly rehabilitate the muscle using a tension band under the toes and pressing to get the muscle to trigger again

Its OK now but not at the size it was pre injury
