I wonder to what extent Kai psyched him out. Could that affect his physique that quick?

definitely.   has phil ever been in a fight?  I mean sure, basketball practice scrapping, yeah... but with arms like that, playing sports, I bet Phil didn't have to fend off too many bullies in school.

Kai was homeless in NYC... methinks it made his skin a little thicker.

kai ourweighed phil by 15 pounds, at least.... and REMEMBER... Big/strong isn't scared of Big/strong.  Big/Strong is scared of CRAZY.

Kai is big/strong, and he is crazy as fck.  Phil KNOWS that kai could have bodyslammed him, and at worst, he's look at ejection... although if they let phil cross the line that much, they might just keep Kai in the show lol.

Kai would lose 100k in prize money, but wow, the endorsements?  The craziest man in BBing... Urf'ing the reigning Mr O in Vegas with NBC and the world watching... major possibilities there. Rematch City!

Phil knows this.  It all went thru his head when Kai squared up.  The super nervous smile, staring to the judges, pointing to tattle... he was scared, as any of us would have been.  That blood rose, his testes recoiled, and his face changed.  Major cortisol spike.    And Kai?  LOL he thrived on it... he was leaner, meaner and sporting half a boner after the near-fight.  After 5 years of hearing Phil trashing him to FANS about the grapefruit, no doubt kai would LOVE to break phil's nose.

Kai is an idiot.  He keeps coming in heavier, and loses, but he expects for there to be a different result each time.  He needs to be conditioned.  How many Olympias does he want to lose until he gets this?

240 yeah you could see it. Phil was shit scared but also conscious of his stage appearance so tried to laugh it off. But yeah I think it fucked him up somewhat.

I would say he probably has stage one. Reduced lats insertions, larger rin cage, shrinking biceps fullness, loss of abs definition and Polumboism of the nose.

I don't think Phil has palumboism, just a bad outing. In 2011 he looked incredible. 2012 he looked like crap, barely any ab separation and holding a bit of water. 2013 he looked good again, not as good as good as 2011, but good. And, of course, 2014 he looked even worse than 2012. I think he's just getting comfortable being the champ and isn't dieting (amongst other things) as hard as he did the first time he won, when he was hungry for the title.
I bet if he does next year what he did in 2011 he'd be his all-time best, unfortunately it seems the judges will reward him no matter what he looks like, and hence I don't expect him to come back looking anything close to his all-time best.

So out of 4 Olympia wins he looked Good in one 2011 & reasonable in 2013,
Probably says more about judging standards & keeping with the current Olympia
Winner.
The judging needs to be addressed as this year the comparison rounds were far to
Short with very few comparisons.
Who wouldn't of wanted to see side by side comparison of ramy & the top 4.
As a competitor & judge I saw it as very flawed.

There have always been stages. Palumbism is a 4 stage disorder. The 4th stage being the end game.

No. Like a couple of other posts have already said, just a bad outing. He looked much better at the finals as seen here with his posing routine.

My bad I guess i'm not as familiar with the disorder as I should be.

But from what I do know after this stage 4 you take the dirt nap that Kovacs did. Phil still has another 5 years till it really gets noticeable..
