when real wages have gone down how have profits gone up but the economy not gone into a recession? in fact the corp share of the economy is pretty much at a record high despite a weak economy... why havent they faced margin pressures given wages and therefore spending by most people have been so weak?

You post endless graphs, and repeat trifles ...do you speak like this in everyday life, can you not cut the shit and make your point without hiding behind jargon?

Because that's all it is at the end of the day, meaningless jargon

I work in finance. We don't work in the vernacular. This isn't a factory. Even skorp with his static data reports needs to know some 'jargon'

What area of finance?  I started out in the M&A analyst pool at a bug US house but couldn't hack it.  Not made for that type of grind or reporting into too many bosses I didn't respect.

Ignore Donny's puerile insults, they are all he has got in his arsenal.  I have to admit that despite myself I like Local Hero though, I'd buy him a pint before sending him and his kids down the mine to help line my Fat Cat pockets.

senior buy side analyst in an illiquid space, so PM is a bit of a joke, PM is basically client facing plus data entry, all the decisions are made after the research by the senior mgmt who are one level above me.

I did work experience at BZW one summer (not sure if they are still around).  Second only to my summer spent at Herbert Smith for boredom.

Leaving the City was the best career move I ever made.  That's not knocking it in the slightest, it just didn't suit me.  To keep it on topic, I was part of Thatcher's Youth for sure but the City ideal never really got me excited because in almost all cases I have seen it is pretty much just about the money.

Well I have done same job for 10 years. Bored shit less.  Know what move I want to make but not achieved it yet. The sell side isn't such a great place these days as most trading is electronic.

If I can give anyone any advice at all it would be to try to find a job that fulfils you.  When I left the City and made my first "new job's" week of of money I think I made about £60.  In my mid 30s.  Very bloody stressful but so far it's been worth it.

someone on here needs to be a shop steward. only his predecessors already managed to shut down most of the factories they controlled.

The old unions had good and bad, they enforced total inflexibility and demarcation amongst the the trades which helped no body... They also fought tooth and nail for rights and pay..

Your beloved Thatcher and prior chose not to modernise/ invest in heavy engineering, they put all there eggs in one basket, so instead of being world leaders and specialising like the germans and norweigens, we did fuck all but close factories and shipyards and replace them with minimum wage call centres decades later... amazing skillsets lost...

Utterly clueless of the realities of economics, taxation, government spending and what it takes to create jobs and wealth for people.

You have no arguments other than impotent insults so go do some reading and at least come back with something tangible.

I don't mind helping you as I was always taught that a society improved when our betters reached out to those below us in the food chain.
