I would bit ch about this post normally but I was a sub teacher for a few weeks in an all girls school. So many came on to me (rough school, lots left early pregnant or drug addicts)
that's the scary part. Toss in the fact we live in the cell phone video era... plus social media... you make an inappropriate glance or joke or even comment on something unrelated immediately after the student makes her advance, and there's video of it with 40,000 views by lunchtime, with local media waiting at your car after school lol.
Kids are shrewd too - if you piss off a student in 1985, they sulk and call it a day. You piss off a street smart, ballsy 8th grader in 2014, you never know what kinda shitstorm it could bring. They can find your house, spouse's co-workers, kids, parents, they can photoshop things, they can make up fake social media in your name... and they know the consequences are very minimal for them. They can literally take your picture at 8am when you arrive and yell at them, and by 4pm, your name/face can be all over sick places on the web, and your family can be alerted to it also. Scary the power kids have today.
