Thanks. That was the 1988 Jr USA, I was 196 ripped lbs at my ht of 5' 9.5"

Today, the guys at that height are 50+ lbs heavier; yet, don't look as good.

That said, about 60% of the adult population lives check to check, which is another way of saying they're almost homeless and broke. ;)

For some reason(s), the top officials and judges reward bigger and more freaky guys with the biggest titles.
One look back to a 90's Youtube video of Shawn Ray or Flex Wheeler proves that bigger isn't always better.

Most people might live paycheck to paycheck but they often have some form of backup ( family, friends, credit cards, etc).
I had none of those and was lucky I never got seriously sick or injured.

Howard, why did you quote yourself?

I use quotes sometimes as a literary device to emphasize ironic points.

there we go. No wonder you dont want kids.

BTW why the need to tell everyone about your life right now?

I didn't want kids BEFORE my dad died.

I'm just posting some stuff I wanted to share with others that may be struggling with similar issues now or have in the past.

Howard this is one of the best things I have read on this site. Your work ethic has rewarded you with a good career and hopefully a good life. Sorry to say I always saw you as one of the court jesters here with irrelevant posts meant to entertain or shock. This biography really made my day here. I'm tempted to post about myself but it's not the venue for me to do a reveal.

Man, seriously... some people just want to live themselves and not "for kids", "for country" or humanity. Simple as that. And Howard seems to live with a lot less suffering than many people on this earth. Sometimes it's just about being lucky and not making stupid choices. And for some people it's better to have many happy moments for a bigger part in their life, even if it means you'll have to pay a "price" at an old age for a decade or two (compared to whole life that price is worth paying imho). Rather than "carry your cross" whole life, being miserable, just in hopes of "not having to be alone when you're old (and fucked anyway..).".

It's very interesting to read experiences of these who have been on this earth for a while. There's another fella, Mr.B (?), a surprisingly sharp (for his age) cookie, always interesting stories and accurate insights.

Thanks for the kind words about my life story.

Please post about your trials and tribulations.
For privacy reasons, I avoided posting most last names and recent specifics, etc.
I think it's a lot more interesting to read about dealing with issues then get lost in too many trivial facts.

For example, I avoided posting most of my workout details and just gave a brief, basic description.
Funny or amusing stuff is always more interesting then talking about how many sets and reps you did for squats.
