I beleive Sony was the first to come out with 4K.  look at Sony's track record over the past trying to get stuff mainstream.  Enough to make you know it will be another flop.

I would say this years samsungs are better than Sony. If your streaming a true 4k feed with the right cables and bandwith it's just awesome. People don't need 3d everybody wants a higher resolution

Funny... I wrote a paper in one of my PhD classes on the development of glasses free 3D TV's and the problems of the current 3D TVs in the market today.  I even discussed how it was Avatar that ignited the interest in this technology.

I bought a big screen LED TV earlier this year and specifically avoided getting one that was 3D (which was fucking hard to find as  a 55" Samsung ) because I'm not a fan of the technology as is implemented today.

You didn't have to avoid getting a TV that can reproduce 3D content. The TV will perform the same in 2D regardless.

I didn't want to pay extra to have 3D capabilities that I would not use.

Lamer than starting your own forum.

Sony OLED 4k plz... Next year should be good for TVs, finally might get something worth replacing the plasma with.
