Getbig musclehunks do you have a tablet?

If so what do you recommend?

It will be mainly for reading pdf, porn, standard web surfing (more porn and getbig) and maybe watch some movie/send mails/hardcore finance.

I've been looking at the Samsung S 8.4" looks like a total beast with monstrous resolution and brutal processor.
Anyway, I'd figured I better ask you studs about decent tablets.

I have a couple years old Asus transformer 10"(nohomo).

I seldom use it for anything other than playing music while I am getting ready via a bluetooth speaker.

They really aren't as practical as a standard laptop, for me at least.

The iPad 7.9" seemed very interesting, it has a really nice screen (retina display) but how does it work practically? I've been concerned about apple's unwillingness to have file transfer through USB cable and such.
Hardware seems solid though, and I might give it another check.

I usually download anything I want directly to it. It takes getting used to as all the apps are sandboxed and aren't easily accessible to each other. There's no file system accessibility either, which can be very disconcerting for computer cross-overs. The app ecosystem for iOS is unparalleled, tho.

It is purely a "consumption" device. You won't be writing long memos or editing spreadsheets. It's practically perfect for the consumption of porn. I use my iPad more than any other device.

I thought you said you were broke and now you're saying you're putting headers and an exhaust system on your vette?

Yes, but I rarely ever use it.  I love the size and portability but they are annoying as fuck to use.

Lotsa Apple hate ITT. They are ALL HOMO devices for sure. But I like them. And I like Galeniko in a more-then-slightly homo way. So transitively you could say that Gal is the iPad of Getbig.

To the iPad detesters, was it because you had issues with the software or was it because a tablet felt unwieldy and unnecessary?

I have a samsung tablet. Cheaper than an ipad and does pretty much all that an ipad could do.

I was looking at this, still my primary choice

http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-tab/SM-T700NTSAXAR

It's their flagship top-of-the-liner and one of the markets thinnest (0.26") and lightest (10 oz).
The light weight would also make it more convenient to hold when reading (which is what I'll use it for mostly).

What's your experience with the samsung pad? Is it up to par to their phones?

To properly test it, Sit down and hold it with your left hand close enough to your face to make out detail on a picture or a video. Now take your right hand and vigorously move it up and down and see if it is possible to focus on the tablet.

there is ZERO use for tablets honestly. Too big to be portable, cant beat a regular computer with keyboard, mouse and large 24"+ screens at home...

when Im out and about Ill use the phone it has a 5.5" screen anyways. plenty... and fits my pockets

Do you have a huge desktop with a screen in your bathroom for when you need a quick fap? Or do you rock the lotion and kleenex at your desk?

I just picked up a 8.4 Samsung galaxy 4 PRO for a gift.  You will save money over the S version and the S yields nothing better, from what I can see.
The PPI for the 8.4 pro is among the best on any tablet....same as the S version.  The pro processor has a 2.3 quad core 2gb ram.  The S version has an edge with 3gb ram...but that's about it.
The tablet is very responsive and looks cleaner than my ipad retina.
The ipad is great, but overpriced and unless you're using Apple specific apps...the Samsung 8.4 pro is an impressive tablet.  I was open to the S version, but it wasn't worth the $100+ difference.  It's newer, so that's the main reason for the price jump.
Hopefully I save a get bigger $100 today.  Haha

I'm not sure why people on this thread had no use for their ipad.  It's a great tablet...overpriced, but still very good.  The number of quality apps is impressive and the operating system is solid and smooth.
It's great for music, porn, general web, email, music streaming to Apple TV, etc.  how can someone not like it?

Go android.....Apple requires you to jump through hoops just to play a simple movie torrent (.avi) you've downloaded.....You can't access the file system....I's all too locked down. With android you can download all the premium paid apps through a torrent on your pc...then hook the tablet up to your pc and simply drag the files over....I've never paid for an app.

You can connect a mouse and keyboard to an Android tablet providing it has a usb port. All you need is a simple cable.

Just much more flexible. Dozens of emulators if you're into games.... you can connect a gamepad and play snes/ps1/sega genesis games etc....
