Of course, but Pantani was also a very exciting cyclist to watch. I remember many of his attacks, great memories. Italy have for a long time had knowledgeable people in regards to sports physiology (both legal and illegal side).

But in terms of bodybuilding, I noticed many italian bodybuilders got too obsessed with Mentzer (heavy duty) and HIT in general. They should have trained with the french pumping style (buinoud, nubret etc) instead.


Pantani is one of the greatest climbers ever, if not the greatest, cycling is dominated by PED since ages... Sad story, his career ended badly, his case is still unresolved and a mistery, was he killed? Who knows... Some say that he was purposely caught because he was a serious threat to Armstrong's throne... Heavy Duty is nonsense, imo, bodybuilders should always train with volume and moderate weight, pumping blood and stimulating the muscle, both for naturals and on drugs...
