Any movie you leave on while channel surfing is a good movie.

Same here x2, prefer Jackie Brown over Pulp Fiction...Di Caprio is one of the greatest actors alive, period... Lots of things changed since Titanic and his babyface days, and even then his acting was good... THE AVIATOR is a masterpiece, he's superb in it, one of the very best movies ever made, imo...

I gotta admit that DeCaprio was very very good in J. Edgar Hoover and Inception as well.....and wait...now that I think of it..he was also awesome in Django unchained

discuss.

LOL. Predator wasn't even Arnie's best movie. T1 and T2 are clearly his standout films.
After that, it's a toss up between Conan, Total Recall and Predator.

I would put True Lies alongside Commando, Red Heat, Raw Deal etc as one of Arnie's enjoyable but less stellar movies.

I just realized that the pic was from Commando. I honestly thought it was from Predator which is clearly the superior movie.
Commando was in the "so bad it's good" category. :D

A Clockwork Orange has to be mentioned.

Cinema Paradiso should get a mention.

Many others mentioned here are in my top 20 films of all time.

Exactly, basically he hasn't failed a single movie since ages, not that he ever failed one... Always top acting, in my opinion he's up there with Nicholson, Brando, young De Niro and few others...

you make a good point....interm of box office and critical acclaim you can make the case that he is right up there with DeNiro and Brando....especially with his portrayal of J. Edgar which I thought was going to be a disaster and which turned out awesome......

and I didn't even see Wolf of Wall Street yet or Shutter Island..you see those?

Shutter Island yes, intricated movie, top acting from Di Caprio of course... Wolf Of Wall Street no, for now... Did you see The Aviator?

Make point to see both.

Shutter Island is unique and will keep you guessing until the end.

Wolf is worth watching for Jonah Hill portrayal of Dennis Azoff alone. He made the movie for me.  The soundtrack is also great per usual Scorcese.  Dicaprio wife in film maybe most facially perfect white chick I can think of.  Dicaprio acts as narrator and lead character in film.  It was panned by many due to feelings of hatred many felt for Dicaprio and Hill characters after first viewing IMO.

To me measure of great movie is discussions it generates after seeing.....Wolf is movie that many have strong opinions about.  Love it or hate it you will talk about it later.

Shutter Island was great, but it was better when it was called The Ninth Configuration.

Awesome movie

Scarface is SO overrated.

Watch "Donnie Brasco" and you will realize how bad Heat, Scarface, and Scent of a Woman really are.

Commando is the second best Poster of all his Movies behind Terminator

Buddy, I SO don't feel that when I watch DB. Scarface is amazing, Pacino at his best.

No, Pacino peaked with Godfather I and II.

Scarface and Heat are way too overacted for me.

Donnie Brasco the book was good, but it's not like the movie put the movies above to shame.  Heat and Scarface were both very good in their own right.

Showgirls garnered tons of discussion.

Wolf of Wall St. was OK.  Nothing spectacular, nothing original, but entertaining.   Read both books before I ever knew it would be a movie.  Not saying the books were that much better (even though that's usually the case).

Wolf of Wall Street was what it was  - good book, decent movie portrayal.

Pacino did a good job physically and manner wise with the Ruggerio, you can hear the real Ruggerio here -

.

The voice is much different, but the flourishes, etc.... are all pretty good, film to real.

Have to disagree, sorry. Dog Day, Serpico, Scarface, And Justice, Carlito's Way, Insomnia, all as good as anything, IMO.

He's good in Carlito's Way, I meant to mention that one. He's maybe  slightly above average in Serpico.

Then he's horrible in so many others it offsets his mediocre stuff

Certainly not a Pacino fanboy; he's done a shitload of horrible later-year stuff, same as DeNiro, but I stand by the ones mentioned. Also, pretty damn good in Frankie and Johnny (and maybe Sea of Love, too?).

All the legends end up finishing horribly, guy: Ruth, Ali, Holmes, Brando, DeNiro, Pacino, etc., what are ya gonna do?

Exactly why I love Nicholson so much. Very few duds, went out on top.

On balance, I think Pacino holds up better than Deniro.
