you could have put JJ Watt on the line... beastmode was going right thru him.   dude was covered in defenders and got almost 5 yards on the previous play.

100 times out of 100, with the super bowl on the line, beastmode gets that TD.  Absolutely.  He's an ass, but he rises and shines in the big moments, and this was the biggest.  He was going to score.

I think Caroll - highly emotionally immature, and a little unstable (he did chase down a retired general, badgering him into leaving) just decided to take the glory away from the disobedient ass who just didn't listen to him anymore.

let me guess, because he was in beast mode lol

you say that's what you think but then you say it isn't your theory.

oh it was my theory instantly.  then i heard it repeated by NFL people.  So yes, I believe it completely.  I was telling getbiggers "don't listen to 240, listen to those in NFL that are saying Caroll was trying to take away beastmode's shine".

i can't stand beastmode, but I think he would have easily scored.  I think caroll didn't want him to be the face of the win.

Dude, stop.  This is ridiculous.  When you think of the cost/benefit of behaving in such a way, it makes zero sense.

Carroll just made a really stupid call.  Somebody should have said something, or Wilson should have called an audible, or made a safer throw.

all week, lynch refused to talk to media then went into this bizarre rant.  He grabs junk.  He's into some weird shit.

There's a chance he would have embarrassed team, NFL, etc when given the mic with 1 bil people watching.  Some employees, you just don't let talk to the media, and if he scores that TD, he gets that platform, and they didn't know what he would say.

AND/OR, coach can't stand him, and it willing to ride him to the 1 then give the glory of the TD to WIlson/coaching staff in a nice middle finger to Lynch.

Probably a little of both.

the NFL is worth billions.  Lynch might have grabbed junk, dropped F-bomb, or otherwise hurt their image and value by acting like an ass.  He acted like an ass all week when only ESPN reporters were there.  imagine what he does with 1 billion people watching?

YES, that is a HUGE cost/benefit analysis to be done there, and any expert would tell you it's highly risky to put a mic in his hand and ask him how he feels lol.  "I feel like grabbing mah dick" could very easily have been his words - and the NFL loses millions because he just branded them in a disgusting manner.

no no no.  it's a multi-billion dollar BUSINESS.  Not a game.  it's a business enterprise, and lynch was a wildcard that could have cost them massive value.

if we're debating on whether or not PR experts from NFL discussed what happens if Lynch is the game MVP and they hand him a mic - then I am not sure there is much to say.  They analyze everything - they analyzed that.  They probably told petey "look, anything you can to to keep him from having that mic, we would appreciate it..."

why not a qb sneak then?

carrol was the main reason they got lynch to begin with. he was on his way out of the league until carrol brought him there and gave him a shot based on knowing him from college.

maybe he got sick of him..............but i agree with the rest of your assessment of carrol, very immature person.

So now the NFL is calling Carroll's plays.

NFL: "hey Pete, not sayin' it WILL happen, but ya know, if you DO find yourself with the game on the line with hardly any time left and four shots at the endzone, could you, I don't know, maybe not let Lynch take ONE of those shots?"

Carroll: "Sounds reasonable, I'm on it."

With the game Lynch was having + he punches it in with a few seconds remaining that probably makes him the clear cut favorite to win the Super Bowl MVP, I will grant you that one.

Especially when you consider Russell really didn't have a stand out type of game.

I guarantee - the NFL was pretty worried about Lynch stealing the show with something crass, something rude, profanity, 'mah dick', pushing his beastmode hats, or something bizarre they couldn't even think of.   If his lesser teammates were willing to shit on the ball - imagine what he does, holding that trophy.

Does he rub it on his dick?  He really might.  Any image like that could tarnish the game for decades.  nobody would be able to see that lombardi trophy without seeing giggly beastmode humping it.  Or worse.

He would have been in an incredible position to damage their brand.  ANY firm worth their salt is thinking about this for the last 2 weeks- and seeing how whiny and entitled he was at super bowl week "i'm here to do a job, not talk to yall" during media day, designed exactly for talking lol...

Well, it could have been a disaster. They're worth billions.  We'd be increidbly naive not to think the convo possibly took place.

I find it disconcerting that you are willing to ascribe the loss to absolutely anything other than the Patriots. It's pathological. You're headed towards getting arrested in Foxboro with a rifle.

Tom Brady was not arrogant or cocky or rude during his post-win interviews. He seemed happy & humble & genuine

I bet that the commissioner is happy that N.E. prevailed.

Absolutely. If the Seahawks had the Patriots against the wall in 4th quarter. And the Seahawks were not strong enough to suppress or contain New England. Seattle had their chances; but the Patriots were better.

My point was: he spoke to the press.... he smiled... he didn't "shit out a football turd" or grab his nuts or have a taunting meltdown on camera.

He was professional. He was happy & well spoken.

Lynch was crushing people out there.   Literally landed on the 1/2 yard line and they had plenty of time to get 2-3 more plays.  Let him crush it for the super bowl and grab his junk as some getbiggers excuse.

No, Pete Caroll (the 911 truther) had to get cute and throw a shitty pass into crowded line.  :(

About that. Cowherd read an email from a listener that was brilliant. While I can't remember the stats that he gave it went something like this. If it was such a bad call then why did Belichick prepare for it? Lynch is 1 for 5 either in the red zone or around the goal line. His chances were pretty good he would have been stopped on those odds. Also for every running play there 4 passing plays after that. That's what Belichick prepared for and it obviously payed off.

exactly, been trying to tell all the arm chair coaches it wasn't a bad call
