If England want to improve they need to ditch Test match cricket and concentrate on just 50 overs and 20/20. That's where the future of the sport lies. Outside of the Ashes, there is no interest for cricket matches that last 4 days.

They could help themselves by bringing back Pietersen for a start. The guy's been out in the cold because the powers that be in the ECB think he's a disruptive influence. England were world beaters when he played.

4 to 5 consecutive days of sold out grounds, not to mention all the TV and advertising revenue. Test cricket in England and Aus wont going anywhere.

England have the players to be decent in ODIs and 20/20 they just don't pick the right team and play too negative.  Management and selectors  are picking teams to play the style of cricket that was played 20 years ago. The games moved on, a shame the old boys network in charge of England never will.
