I'm not racist because I support blacks financially through my tax dollars.  They live and eat off on money that I worked for and earned.  I often pay for them to have more kids too.  I don't have a choice in the matter but I think it should still count.

Having grown up in much more liberal Southern California, my wife and I bought our first home in Portland in the late 60's. It was on Rodney Ave. a block north of Fremont; the heart of the then black ghetto. We had this wild notion we'd somehow make a life there.  This idealistic failed experiment lasted a little longer then a year. That house is in the middle of the now gentrified close-in N.E. If we'd toughed it out, we'd have made a killing on the property.

These days we live in West Linn where minorities are so few in numbers as to be almost none existent. I do run into some of the Trailblazers at my local Starbucks on occasion. The irony is that they live in the gated areas where McMansions start at $1 mil and go up from there. I live is a 70's Brady bunch type neighborhood where most of us are working class or as in my case, retired working class.
