I have exactly 1 year and 11 days 'til I'm 50, but AJ said I'm grandfathered in.

While I definitely qualify to say these things age-wise, I don't do it. Nobody wants to hear from an old guy know it all. Anyway, I'd be lying since I never walked a great distance to school in several feet of snow. I had no idea what the value of a dollar was. I got my first job when I was 17 years old. I had no concept of hard work....since I never had to do it. I did eat all my vegetables. I also talked back to some adults, such as my parents and teachers, which sometimes got me into trouble. I was spoiled. No rocks, sand and dirt for me. I had enough high end toys for an army of kids. For example, I had two electric train sets when I was seven years old.

Be careful of what you wish for.

You shouldn't feel neglected. Material things didn't make up for severely lacking stability and a sense of security. It's also not proof to a kid that they are loved and/or wanted.  Anyway it wasn't my doing, so no congratulations are in order.

After I was an adult, I discovered much of my extended family thought of me as sort of an orphan child since my parents had no ability to provide a safe and loving environment. Fortunately some of this extended family stepped in and provided me a home for awhile. Things stabilized somewhat by the time I was 9 years old.
