I went to Singapore back in the 90's, and while I was there I bought several counterfeit Rolexes for like $15-20 USD each. Lots of people back home complimented me on them.

Of course they all would turn green after a couple of years.

Nowadays I have 2 watches. One I wear to the gym and in the pool and hot tub that cost me something like $20 at Target, and another much nicer watch I bought from a jeweler buddy that I don't feel the need to brag about how much I paid for it. I literally spend maybe 10 seconds out of any given day thinking about my nicer watch, which is slightly more time than I spend thinking about my very cheap gym watch.

the way you describe the jeweler's watch makes it sound very gay indeed.
