Look at the quality and hardness on display from Haney and zane ^.... This is what bodybuilding should be about,

 I'm all for guys being bigger than this but they must be tight with density and hardness detail over fullness and "size",...

I've probably said this a few times on here, but all things considered Samir is probably my favourite Mr O.  Handsome b4stard (no h0mo) World class mustache and great guy as well - totally approachable and shot the sh1t with me for far too long when I met him on the GP tour back in the '90s.  Got a pic too, and he didn't charge me $20

Samir certainly up there with the Best of Olympia wining Physiques
As Good as Frank was Samir at his Best was Better & It a Tough Call between
Him & Lee at their Peak.

I remember watching the 1984 televised Mr. Olympia when Haney took 1st. He looked unreal to me.

Zane is superb.  Haney is not. If others here feel differently that's fine.  I can't stand Lee Vainey.  He is fugly.

He should have no more than four Sandows.  But hey...It's a subjective pastime, bodybuilding.  Labrada was better on at least two occasions but again, this is my subjective reasoning.

And once more, with feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeling.  I don't care at all for Haney or his physique.

True. Many go under the radar from that era. Same as a couple of amateurs that look better than pros today. The competition was so much tougher.

Zane was 42 here. Loved his posing routine to One of These Days.

Paris though a much more aesthetically pleasing build, not to mention taller and probably wider, never nailed his condition the way Zane could.

And Benfatto.... I get he has a certain quality to his physique but I thought it was weird. He had clean lines but an oddly compact torso with long legs.
