I am hoping that my trousers get a little tighter in the leg and butt, while getting looser in the waist. I wear them pretty loose to begin with, so if I am not careful they might become saggers!  ;D At least if I had a little bit if a butt to hold them up that would not happen. Nobody wants to see some old man's ass crack....LOL!

When folks start confusing me with Steve because my quads are so huge, I will have finally arrived.

I am considering buying a few dumbbells so I can do some extra work on my biceps. The inspiration is from doing the leg extensions everyday for my knee and how that's made my quads respond.

At a previous home we had a full basement. I had a lot of workout equipment in the basement. The only issue was that I couldn't do any standing overhead presses because the ceiling was too low. -Couldn't have been too big of a problem since I rarely do anything overhead while standing anyway. On the plus side, it was nice having equipment handy and at home. On the negative side, it made it hard to commit to a specific workout time because I knew the equipment wasn't going anywhere. I did build up my quads during that time despite that I was squatting with very light weights. Just goes to prove you don't necessarily need to lift like a power lifter to get big.

Soon you will be running on the treadmill naked, like I used to do when it was in the house instead of the garage. I suppose I could run naked in the garage just as well, although it isn't that warm out there right now. My little bits of junk would probably retreat some to stay warm.  :-\

I hate that my post is following yours since I worked legs today too and compared to you, my resistance is puny. On an up note, my knee did fine. I was actually surprised that I could handle as much weight as I did. I was expecting to have to really dial it back.

Saturday - quads and calves:

Weight 208

Nautilus leg extensions, 5X15-8 @ 100 to 160
Standing one legged calf raises, 4X20-10 @ 160 to 220
Leg press, 6X20-8 @ 200 to 500 added weight
alternating with
Leg press calf raises, 5X20-10 @ 100 to 300 added weight
Machine hack squats, 3X12-6 @ BW to 140 added weight
Seated calf raises, 3X15-8 @ 55 to 140

I guess you are dreaming. I can't recall how long ago it was that I wore cut off Levi short shorts, but it must have at least been in the 80's. I do remember nylon running shorts being really popular. I liked how they looked and felt on me and I wore them a lot whenever I could. These days I wear Old Navy baggy shorts unless I am showing off then I wear Under Armor or the like. Hmm, maybe a nice pair of leather shorts would be interesting....now I am dreaming of times past....or in the future when I have wheels like yours.  :)

I have a prescription analgesic Voltaren Gel that works great. It's expensive. If I rub some on my knee when I hit the sack, which is any minute now, my knee does not bother me all night long.

That's interesting. Here in Europe they call it Hotice, but it has the same logo as Icy Hot.
I used it yesterday for my left delt, and the pain is gone (thank you, ex gf).

I thought you might be interested in seeing this, Karen:

Treating Mayonnaise Allergy Symptoms

•Avoiding mayonnaise in all forms or prepare it at home with the non-allergic ingredients only. You also need to avoid all commercial sauces and dressings that come in a bottle unless you are doubly sure of the contents.
•Antihistamine drugs can easily help you to get rid of the milder symptoms and medicated skin lotions relieve the skin rashes and itching completely.
•Anaphylaxis is a serious life threatening condition that can be lessened only by administering epinephrine shots.

Thanks Jay, I finally caved yesterday and bought myself phenergan at the chemist.  I just couldn't stand it any longer...the rashes etc.  When people start commenting that you are covered in rashes then it's time to do something.  It knocked me out though for part of the day and has left me drowsy.  I am still drowsy this morning from it.  Now I am angry because this allergy which shouldn't have happened has taken 4 days of my life and training.  I don't want to eat out with my girlfriends anymore.  I feel resentful actually.

Just so long as you don't resent your girlfriends. It wasn't their fault as far as I could tell.

If you eat out, you might consider asking if there is any mayonnaise or other dressings normally served on whatever it is you order, sandwich, wrap, etc. Following up with the comment that you are highly allergic to these food products and could become very sick or die if you accidentally ate them. I would think that would do it. Also you could order your foods dry, as in no dressing of any kind. Even Mcdonald's lets you order sandwiches how ever you want them....like no special sauce, no mustard or no ketchup. I have even ordered plain burgers with no bun or anything else for the puppies when I want to give them a treat.

I already do this now Jay.  I am always extremely careful what I put into my mouth.  I even recheck burgers etc.  I am not resentful of my girlfriends, but i will say that I did not want to eat there and so I am annoyed at myself.  I am just in a shitty mood because I don't like the effects of this phenergan on my body.  My heart is beating fast etc and I hate this feeling.  And I lost 5 days today going on 6 tomorrow if I am still not feeling well.  Cause now I have the effects from the phenergan to deal with.

Karen,

My knee issue isn't the same thing as what you are suffering. What I was allowing it to do was influence my workout routine. You may be doing the same with this allergy issue and the treatment. If we wait until we feel great to hit the gym, we may never go again. At least for me, once I took my sorry ass knee to the gym, ignoring the pain and working out the best I could I started feeling better. I even amazed myself on Saturday; My quad and calves routine went much better than I had expected. I truly believe if I'd continued to nurse my knee and avoid the gym, I'd be much worse off today. But that's just me. I am not you and I cannot know how you feel. This is just a thought and an observation.
