His philosophies I found were backwards, forwards, upside down, inside out consistent and very difficult to refute. I do not have the education to refute his principles and I would consider myself pretty educated. Mentzer was a very smart man. He was a follower of Ayn Rand's objectivism philosophy which I also find incredibly difficult to refute. The 1980 Mr. Olympia ruined Mentzer. He fell into a life of stress and drugs and never came out of it.
not true. mentzer wasnt as smart as he thought he was. he over complicated bodybuilding. he twisted his own mind into knots.
he was an intelligent guy in many ways tho. he liked philosophy but he was mentally flawed and turned to drugs. a weak physche combined with drugs led to mentzers weird behaviour in the mid and late 80s.
also the mr olympia loss in 1980 shouldnt affect a normal person to such a degree as it did. of course he lost his bodybuilding magazine in 84 i think..which sent him over the edge,
he was mentally flawed from childhood.
HIT is shit. some say it works, of course it does as you are stimulating muscle fibers but..there are way better methods.
