Thanks. Your are right of course. Can't be cheerful 100% of the time. I'm in a great mood today.

See?   ;D

Quote
The authorities are fairly mum about this. There is speculation that the shooter was gay himself.  He was also a radical Muslim. Islam goes beyond merely disapproving of homosexuality. Sharia teaches that homosexuality is a vile form of fornication, punishable by death. If what is suspected is true, he must have been pretty conflicted. This is why I mentioned homophobia.

Yes, because I hadn't seen anything to say his "problem" with gays was anything other than perhaps he hadn't been drilled by nearly enough of them yet.  It could be he wanted to get maximum people in a relatively small area, too.

Or maybe the girl convinced him that, if he wanted to kill a bunch of people, to do it there (meaning she was the one w the problem).  But who knows if we'll ever find out.

Anyway, Prime, I'm very glad you feel better and I will stop hijacking this thread with the OT stuff.

This thread is the most tolerant thread of all. We are friendly here and we cut folks a lot of slack.

That being said, I had an excellent workout today. I worked hams with much vigor. Changed up the routine a bit by doing all the ham and glute work first and then worked my calves. I also did more sets than usual.

I just read the last couple of posts and I want to say to you, I seriously love and admire you all. You are a really great bunch of guys. Not once have I felt alienated or marginalized in this and it's parent thread which fell victim of some moderator's whim. Most of all, I want to thank Donny for his perseverance, which has kept this topic going through 'hell and high water' to the benefit of all of us who post here. I can't speak for everyone, but I suspect y'all  will agree with me.

Keeping it on topic, tomorrow I will work my back....which at the moment feels fine, making me once again realize that I am my own worst enemy. I learned early on that positive thinking is productive and negative thinking is not. I just need a kick in the ass once in awhile to remind me of this. And who better to do it than you all.

A short time ago, my son called to wish me a good father's day. As suspected, he had sent the 'snail mail' card to me too late for it to arrive ontime. I will probably get it on Monday. I plan to celebrate my being his father all over again.  :)

Just as I said he is on a different calendar....the German one. Never-the-less his call came from Virginia where is at this moment currently on business. Last week, he was in Dayton, OH. Next, he will be in an unpronounceable country in Africa setting up U.S. operations there at a newly established Embassy.

This all sounds very covert, I know. My son is just a regular guy working for the U.S. government.

Last night I worked hams, glutes and calves. I kept the resistance to a reasonable level and concentrated on doing more sets and reps. I also did all the ham work first then glutes and then jumped into the calf work. Doing it this way allowed me to add a couple of new movements to my ham and butt workout. I'm feeling it today.

Tonight I will work my back. I think I will try something like I did last night with lighter weight and more sets and reps. Since I already do six different movements, I likely won't add new ones....are there any left?

I continued the style of workout with back that I'd used for my quads. We'll see if it was beneficial.

How odd, it appears I am now replying to myself. Senility has finally set in.  ;D

Last night, I worked delts traps and abs at the 24 Hour Fitness. It was still early (8:00 p.m.) so the gym was fairly crowded. Never-the-less, there was no wait to use equipment. -Did between 4 and 5 sets for each movement which for shoulders was overhead presses, side laterals and rear delts on the pec-delt machine. For traps, I did cable shrugs, which using the equipment I did are much like dumbbell shrugs and finally cable upright rows. I worked my abs doing cable crunches, back raises and seated ab machine crunches. For each of these I did 2 sets of 25 reps. On all exercises I used moderate weight and one set with challenging resistance. The workout lasted about an hour. Not feeling much yet, but I hope to by tomorrow.

You have a lot more energy than I do. Just reading this routine wore me out.

I'm at a conference and won't be working out until Sunday. It is what it is. There is no way to get the missed gym time back, so I'll move forward instead.

Yesterday i went for a good run. First real hard one since i got that Vein(s) pulled out my leg and i trained full Body today. i actually did 3 sets of Bodyweight squats and forgot how hard they are high rep to failure. Wilf Sylvester style. I also spoke to Rich via Email today and he is doing fine and will be online soon. ;D

It's good to have you back posting here. Looking forward to Rich's posts too. His observations are interesting and fun to read.

Like you, I worked quads without added resistance. Last night, I did 5 X 25 leg extensions for each leg; 4 x 25 deep (ass to ground) squats; 3 X 12 each leg lunges and 4 X 15 toe touches with hands flat to the floor. My quads were amazingly pumped (measuring at least an inch larger by the end of the workout). They are still tight today. Every so often, it feels good to workout without added weight. It is also surprising how much exercise you  get doing this.

Today I work arms. I'm planing on doing this at the gym because my stick arms respond better to higher resistance using a variety of positions which cannot be achieved without some equipment.

Perfect weather here today. The high is 80°F and sunny. Cooler tonight.

I, the other one of us two, continued working out at home this week. Interesting results from leg nights, my quads, hams and glutes seem to respond well to less resistance and many more reps. This is similar with upper body exercises, although the variety of movements is much less than it is at the gym. This doesn't mean I am giving up on going to the gym. Variety is the 'spice of life'.

Since the OP, Donny is still banned on Getbig, I checked out the other website forums he's currently posting on. So far, they seem much more on target and the folks are more civil to one another. Getbig has a distinctive style....which is extremely snarky most of the time. I know I've posted comments on Getbig that were alien to my usual style, which is very much more positive and far less critical. It is the culture here and sometimes, for some folks, it brings out our ugly and mean sides. You are one of the exceptions. Your posts are always right on.
