I waited until I was 49 and my natural levels were in free-fall anyway. It wasn't a moralistic decision, it was just that it didn't dawn on me to hop on gear. It was only when I noticed that I was getting tired, libido fading and a really bad tendon injury that I started looking into it. I was all about TRT until my doc (who I like) denied the scrip. Fine.
Been on 200-250 for a little over a year and my bloods are unchanged. I think that it's wise to let people know that there is a suppression of natural test, but I've had friends go on TRT and come off after 6 months and bounce back in a couple of months.
That said, some regimins are about quality of life.
Good choice and sound judgement right there.
I started TRT mainly because I had no fun in the gym anymore, no real changes and the aches and pains of getting old were taking more and more space in my life. I ask my doc for blood test, came up low range but not enough to qualify so I took matters into my own hands and settled for 200 mgs a week of pharma grade Sustanon.
I do have sides, even at those doses (horrible bacne) but got my estro in control and now everything is good.
I don't know if I want to do this forever. My family is complete and I'm not that worried about long term impact, especially since I train way more but something about sticking a needle in my butt every week seems wrong and odd....
