Damn that thread title just about gave ME a heart attack. Time for them to take a break, I think they should aim for just a few shows a year like at festivals. He can't keep up anymore just look at the guy.

The only thing would kill Lemmy is if they took his daily 5th of Jack away.

just play sitting down on a toilet with a cape around him... the great Pavarotti had it in his contract that he had to be within 300 feet of a toilet when he performed... they used to have a porta- toilet set up behind the bass drum set, that way he could relieve himself on stage.....after all the show must go on.. ::)

I've been a fan of Lemmy since I saw this classic Hawkwind performance on TV in 1972.

The girl used to dance totally naked on stage during the old Hawkwind concerts.

Still don't know how to embed. Lemmy in his younger days...

"Ace of Spades" has been my alarm clock song for several years.

Nothing rousts you out of bed like this tune.

Three of the best metal songs ever, recorded WAY late in their run.

Nice riffs, but Lemmy's voice sounds like shit.

Think so? I dig it on these, still strong and gravelly. Riffs are fantastic, but probably borrowed from 80s Priest tunes.

Ratt - Hell. Yes. 'Eat Me Up" is as good as the classics. (Think I turned you on to this last year, glad you dig it.)

Slipknot - Nah, sorry. Not for me. Too gimmicky, too growly, too derivative, too processed ... just TOO.

Godsmack - This one, fuck yeah. Dig the first two records, when the staccato riff was still sorta fresh. Helmet and Deftones, same thing. Before all the clones, who eventually got the sound dismissed as "nu metal."

Funny, in '99 critics wrote off Godsmack as an Alice in Chains rip-off. I can't even hear that influence anymore, though I thought I could at the time. Probably what I liked about them. No one makes that comparison anymore.

I will be first in line for his Third Reich memorabilia upon his death. Not hoping to rush him along, just saying.

Seems fitting here: Sabbath just announced their End Tour, last chance to catch 'em live. Supporting the North American leg: RIVAL SONS

Best fucking band on the planet. Give 'em a listen, rockers.

That guitar solo is freakin awesome in the Ratt video. Man o man, I miss good guitar solos like that, especially with that "wailing sound".

Wow. That is some gritty, soulful stuff. Lead singer has a very talented voice. Good departure from the raspy, groveling tone that most singers in the genre have. Sorta like a funk/blues fusion.

Yeah, they sorta died in the 90s, I think. Solo is a genre thing, I guess. Hard rock and metal, don't hear them anywhere else, really.

Jazz, too. But no one listens to jazz. Which is really too bad, because it f'n KILLS.

Guy's a straight blues/soul singer, never even listened to rock. Hooked up with a Stones/Zep-influenced guitarist and the rest is f'n chemistry. This is the stuff he used to sing:

Seeing them tomorrow in Long Beach, acoustic set at some local music fest. Hot dogs, beer, sounds. Good times.
