Hit to kill in China
« on: September 04, 2015, 01:17:25 PM »
Have you heard of this phenomenon?

Apparently, in China, if you hit someone you are on the hook financially for the rest of their life. So, it is fairly common for accidental hits to be followed up with running over the victim multiple times to make sure they are dead.  There have been a lot of cases in the news there over the years.

Unless the old guy was deaf, there's no way he wouldn't hear that truck slowly backing up. Impossible...

Maybe the sound the truck made while backing up was in Cantonese and the old man only understood Mandarin?

Strange culture in China.

Read an article on this.

Cheaper to pay out 50K to a family than to take care of someone for life.

Definitely disturbing.

it's only weird or disturbing if the driver gets dopamine/serotonin/oxytocin/endorphin rush from crushing the old man 3 times.

Interesting thing is they rarely end up being charged with murder, so it makes you wonder what the idea behind the law is. It ultimately doesn't protect the public.

Very sensible and better for all parties involved tbh. Quality of life would've went down considerably for both parties involved.

A billion motherfuckers over there, laws for population/birth control. Yeah, I think they could give a fuck less.
