Discounting titles, who do you prefer? I'm not sure if they ever competed against each other before.

They have quite different body shape. But...I prefer Nubret anytime, fuller rounder muscle bellies, flawless pecs and shoulders cum a super taper. Zane is like a classic statue, no disrespect to him just a matter of personal preference.

I've spent some time with both Nubret and Zane in their prime and would have to state that Nubret would probably have beaten Zane in an unprejudiced contest.
But both of them were great in their day.

Nubret definitely had the better front upper body, but when it comes to legs/calves combo and back Zane probably had the edge.
Both had great lines and balance, tough to call overall.

Nubret. This shouldn't even be seriously considered. It isn't even close.

I agree. Frank may have had a slight better lower body that Nubret....but the overall physique was Nubret over Zane.

Zane was smaller but his conditioning at the time was nearly unrivaled.

Bannout at his peak was probably the ideal look.

Nubret for sure but they both were great in their prime. Zane is about the same as me, except I have better legs..... Definitly not big by todays standards. Nubret had alot of muscle and was much bigger and one of the alltime best.

tight waist, good V taper, and an asthetic flow. Traits hard to come by these days.

Preferences aside, I can't see Nubret beating Zane at his best in a bodybuilding contest.

Both had unreal builds Zane takes it with better wheels and conditoning but I give Nubret the nod for upper bodymass and overall muscle belly fullness

Years ago when I was a teenager, Nubret spent a week training in Toronto at the gym I trained at. He spent HOURS doing set after set after set after set of the same exercise (ie. single side laterals) with ridiculously light weights (ie. 70 pound barbell curl). I witnessed Bruce Page, a bodybuilding author and historian who wrote for Ironman, tape Nubrets arm after one of these marathon sessions at 21 1/4 " pumped. Zane never ever approached that size but had a much more complete package.

Definitely Serge. Someone put up that pic of him next to Flex Wheeler in a comparison shot-crop. I used to have that as my background pic. The man had an unbelieveable physique for back in the day.

Zane, maybe a better back, for sure better legs, for sure better conditioning. I don't think Nubret ever competed much in the IFBB besides the Olympia. He won his titles in the NABBA and the WBBG. I think Nubret also looked better relaxed than flexing which I count against him. I think Zane was for sure the better bodybuilder

Was it Frank Zane, Chet Yorton, or Sergio?
