Not having an objective measure like a scale is one way cruddy trainers have been fooling rubes for years.  "Body composition changing" = horseshit.

How about the objectivity of exercise and a calorie deficit? We KNOW this works, correct? Just follow the program, avoiding scales AND mirrors altogether, I'd say. Those gauges do nothing but fuck with your head in the beginning, no benefit whatsoever. Cover the fuck up as well. The progress you make in your workouts is all the measure you need.

Put in a few solid months, then take off your shirt in a changing room somewhere to verify improvement.

Your waist is not 2.5 inches smaller.  You weigh 270 something.  What are you Big Hammy?  I thought you wanted to lose weight.  Keep powerlifting.

He claims he already put in 36 days and weighs the same.  Either he's blowing up like a Flex Wheeler or he's trolling or he's full of shit.  I'd agree if he was some lean bodybuilder type that knew his body.  He weighs 270 plus on "paleo."

1 pound per week isn't bad. Especially in the long run. Think: by Christmas, you'll be down 15 pounds. Over 50 in a year.
I don't know what your expectations are, but it sounds like they are way too high.
Keep on doing what you are doing until there is NO weight loss, then make adjustments.
Until that time, keep working your butt off.

Are you on any type of anti-anxiety meds? As those can hamper weight lose a great deal.

Like for me, I can't lose a pound unless I'm off Paxil. Alot easier to put on weight on, also.

When I diet down, I go off Paxil. Then when I'm bulking, I'm back on.
This especially at 50. Also anti-depressants and mood stabilizers.

Lol@lustral being able to cut on 5000 calories a day.even the average marathon runner wouldn't lose weight eating 5000 calories a day if they were running a marathon EVERY day.

It is much easier for Josh to build muscle and lose fat simultaneuosly since he hasn`t trained in many years.

Plus his diet is good,I bet he starts to drop pounds very soon.

Running a mile burns about 100 calories. So, running a marathon a day would burn a bit over 1/2 of 5k calories.

People have this weird notion that exercise is a good way to directly lose weight.

For example a man Avesher's size running three miles will burn around 600 kcal.  That's like two donuts.

Weight loss (if that's the goal) is all about diet (in other words don't eat the donuts), but there are tremendous health benefits to frequent/intensive exercise that extend beyond energy balance.
