Thanks, you know me, I've been on/off here for since Ron started getbig about 20 yrs ago.

I tried the GetBIG politics forum last year, but it was too serious and partisan for my tastes.

The reg getbig G&O stuff is a lot more fun and entertaining.

Lots of good posters here, was what attracted me to join as a member myself which I have not done to any other forum. Always good banter here and some very intelligent people to put things across in entertaining and succinct ways.

There is no forum like Getbig.

You might find political forums, forums that are dedicated to training and supplements, and forums that discuss general topics (movies/popmusic and whatnot), but nothing like this mix of topics, people and opinions.

Getbig is the perfect blend.

No matter what is discussed here, be it politics, bodybuilding, schmoeing, wigs,  hair transplants, gay acts at the Mirage, width of collarbones, Darren Avey's streetfights in the UK, Martys fences, Taylors dresscode etc, it's all colored and influenced by the pose of Cancer. (which was what brought us all here from the beginning decades ago)

You might find political forums, forums that are dedicated to training and supplements, and forums that discuss general topics (movies/popmusic and whatnot), but nothing like this mix of topics, people and opinions.

Overall it's one of the last busy forums of the Internet in the age of Facebook and social media. Message boards are a platform of the 1990s and early 2000s, and were superseded long ago by Myspace, which was itself rendered obsolete by FB about 10 years ago. Niche forums that cater to a particular topic, like bodybuilding or hairloss, will continue to exist, and that's why this one is still here. General forums are mostly graveyards or got the plug pulled when their ad revenue dried up along with their user base.

But there's limits on here. Some jokes are considered too explosive or in poor taste to be allowed to stand, as I saw a couple of days ago when my Basile thread got torched by Ron. Josh and Alex have been banned many times, for little more than some friendly ribbing off the website by people who frankly were challenging them to a duel every time they logged on. Anabolichalo's repeated jabs at Lobstah got him shown the door more than once. So the moderation is still relatively strong here, but they're more tolerant than on most forums still in circulation. This site also has another phenomenon that few other sites have: Posters with a considerable postcount that come out of the woodwork suddenly to post in a thread, then disappear again. In other words, there's regulars here, like any place. But there's also longtime posters that post sporadically without ever actually leaving the site permanently.

LOL, but I'm just stating the overall political atmosphere now.Plenty  get into it and a few make some
thoughtful comments. Most of it has sadly digressed to yelling insults in an attempt to "own" the other side.

The most absurd thing is that both sides often fail too accept we all live together in the same country .
Regardless of who pokes a hole in the boat, we all sink.

You're a good example of why this site is so good. Seem to have come out of nowhere but have made lots of very thoughtful and insightful posts over the last month or so. People seem to come and go here as you say. Drift off for a week, month or year and then suddenly return with a peppering of great posts out of the nowhere.
