Yes, i love them.  They keep the integrity of the roof (which is very good), yet they're "almost" as good as a convertible.  When it comes down to it, I'd prefer the safety of the roof structure on a ragtop, anyway, to give a little security when flying around corners.:)  Type I is one of my favorite cars to race around in.

Yes, the Japs catch onto something and they do it with serious flair.  I tend to like the Japanese, actually, as they seem to be the Asians who most understand the importance of general, everyday respect.

They seem to be holding their shit together as the world around them crumbles, too.

And all it took was a ridiculously huge bomb or two.

This was the classic two-tone VW, with one paint on the doors and the adjacent panels, and the rest another paint:

That's what they did with this:

VW is crap nowadays. They were ok in the past though.
Audi good quality right into the 2000s.
Now not so much.
Reliability today?
Honda, Toyota.

I'm pretty sure VW is doing better the past few years vs early 2000's.

Yep, they're Notchback Ghias.  They are unbelievably rare.

Here's one even more rare -- it's a Fastback Ghia (TC).  The Porsche really shines through in these.
