But we are already paying for their mistakes by housing them in prison, feeding, and clothing them.

But in this case, rehabilitation made total sense and it actually worked. This is one less guy who will most likely NOT commit a crime because he rehabed himself, yet, he received push back other lawyers.

Eventually, MANY people in prison are going to leave. We have 2 choice: 1) attempt to rehab them, so they become law abiding citizens or 2) do not attempt to rehab them, and make it an almost guarantee that they wind up back in prison. If you go with option 2, youre investing more money via your tax dollars to put them back in jail.

I don't think the first thing he needs to do is pay WW back. In a perfect world, yes, but he has bigger fish to fry. He can't pay WW if hes still an addict. The first thing he needs to do is get clean and get all of his expenses in order (if he has any debt from court). You can't pay someone back when your life is in shambles. Yes, Groink should pay back WW, but realistically speaking, he needs to take care of the other stuff first before he can even begin to pay back debts to friends or family.
