Also couldn't stand Fargo, Smoke, Reservoir Dogs, Natural Born Killers, Pulp Fiction, and a lot of other cult favorites.

I might have been fine with some of the movies if they lived up to the hype.

Only these trouble me, but, hey, your taste is your own.

Can you list maybe 3-5 you really dig? For reference.

Then STFU

Always dug "Desperado" and "Witchy Woman," among others.

I also love many of Henley's solo tunes, but this is Frey's thread. So I'll just check out with "You Belong to the City" isn't nearly as bad as Starship's horrifically shitty "We Built this City."

Again, RIP.

Desperado is the best.

Back in the my university days, I used to play Glen's The heat is on all the time.  It is a very positive piece of music.  I own the Beverly hills cop soundtrack because of tracks like that.

PIP...If you ever watch the Eagles documentary you can see he could be a dick and a pain in the ass but he knew what he wanted and he drove forward to achieve his vision.....there is something to be said about that.

....some really good songs out of him and that band 8)

Yeah, there was a lot of animosity between the band and Felder.  That was not a new revelation in The History of the Eagles.  Sad they never reconciled.  Randy Meisner sure is in a sad state now.

I was so bummed they couldn't make it (collectively) in December to the Kennedy Center Honors, postponing til 2016.  I don't think the public was made aware how critical Glenn's situation was, just that he needed surgery and there would be a long recovery period.

Yes. I'm pretty familiar with the cigar store culture but found it silly that they tried so hard to make the people interesting.

Not a bad movie, though. Just didn't live up to the hype.

I'm probably too cynical but have usually been disappointed when someone says "This is the best movie, ever", "It'll change how you see things", or have every line memorized.

Classics hold up for me. I'm a big Kurosawa fan.

I understand why "Fight Club" was a great movie. I just lack the frame of reference that would have been necessary for it to really speak to me.

You never hear, "He faught a decent/weak battle with his sickness."
Why must it always be a courageous battle?
Reality is, many with a sickness just quit.  Let's be real here.

He got tired of medications and shitting himself, so...he threw in the towel and said enough.

I hear ya,,,a courageous battle would be 5/10 yrs and pushing it back even though it came back,,and then it gets you but some people defeat it 1st time around ...my wifes aunt fought breast cancer 15 yrs....

Most don't choose either way, it's just a nice thing to say about one who's passed. No one "beats" or "finally lost their courageous battle with" cancer or what have you; the chemo-cocktail or life-preserving concoction either did its job or it didn't.

The rest is just feel good blah blah for survivors.
