I haven't heard any IFBB pro say bodybuilders aren't athletes..

I haven't heard any IFBB pros say much of anything.

What's your point?

Ask an IFBB pro what his pre-contest AAS cycle looks like.

See what he says.

That's the point.

Credibility?

No.

What about the other professional athletes who use AAS? Do they lose credibility? Who here loves football?

How did I fail. It wasn't my intention to became a pro. Like I said I put down the industry not the bodybuilders. I've been in the industry for more than 30 years and it's been ruined!

Actually you said that "bodybuilder are not athletes" that is putting down bodybuilders.

Funny how bodybuilders are not athletes, but can bench press, squat and deadlift more, out-run, out-fight and out-power elite athletes from other sports. Go figure... ::)

SUCKMYMUSCLE

Out-fight??? Are you implying that just because a bodybuilder is big and strong that they can handle themselves in a fight? Since when did the ability to take steroids and lift a weight translate into proficiency in self defense?

Here's a great idea. Let's starting integrating IFBB bodybuilders into UFC fights and see how well they hold up.

sport

n. Physical activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively.
A particular form of this activity.

n. An activity involving physical exertion and skill that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often undertaken competitively.

Sounds like bodubuilding qualifies.

Players in all sports, be definition, are athletes. I think that's where he was headed with his reply.

:)

Crap. Then this definition makes the following recreational activities sports:

- Curling
- Darts
- Pool
- Bowling
- Squirels water skiing

I'll ask one last time. What physical skill does Ronnie Coleman have that makes him Mr. Olympia instead of you or I??

He has no one skill that makes him Mr. Olympia. He has great genetics. You, I or anyone else on this board can do the exact same exercises and for the most part we do, he's obviously stronger. But no one skill.

Bodybuilding aint a sport because it requires no athletic skill to go up on stage and pose. I dont mean this in a negative way, yes bodybuilders work hard and posing is quite the skill(not that posing wins u contest these days anyway), but it is wrong to say that bodybuilding is a sport.

As much as I hate to admit it, it's not a sport, but it is physical. I think thats where the division is because it takes more physical attempts to do the work, however being a ditch digger or construction worker is also physical work and I can't say they are "athletes". But there are a lot of athletes that do bodybuilding.

Define failed?

To prove deficient or lacking; perform ineffectively or inadequately: failed to fulfill their promises; failed in their attempt to reach the summit.
To be unsuccessful:
