The only thing that's respected is as delusional as he is, he's honest.

Do you feel there are any DISHONEST republicans in the race?   Or is it all honest repubs, honest bernie, and lying Hilary?

Is Hilary the only liar running?

Yes, we get it. Liberals are fucking geniuses and everyone else is stupid. The problem is that no one gives a fuck about your scary intellect. They care about what you can do for them, and continually telling people about how smart you are is not a highly valued skill. It's actually a miserable defect and sign of insecurity, kinda like the bodybuilder who always has to wear a tight t-shirt.

yet another post slamming liberals haha IMMEDIATELY after it's been pointed out all your posts do the same thing.

It's not a thread about bicep curls.

It's a thread about a Socialist politician. The poster I addressed is named "Liberalismo." It's kinda of an appropriate place to talk about Liberals.

What's so sad about guys like you is that you don't even realize you're a stereotype, The "Look at how smart I am" Liberal. As I said, we get it. You're very smart. Congrats on your high IQ.

you just did it again, doofus, try to make a specific fact based argument instead of spewing soundbites inspired by rush limbaugh. If you want to just make spurious generalizations the key generalization with regard to liberals is that they're smarter than you. This comes from scholarship and serious examination, I provided academic study for your reference. This is how discussion occurs, not robotic repetition of right-wing talking points.

I'm serious, i must have asked you at least four times where you get your information but you refuse to provide the answer!

Do you like the idea of living in a socialist nanny-state with high taxes, a centralized government and bureaucracy and extreme political correctness and limits of free speech where if you say the wrong thing you could go to jail?

Sure there are.  Most politicians manipulate the truth.  Hillary just takes it to another level.
Rand Paul & Ben Carson are probably the most honest guys up there.  Carson was a great surgeon and inspiration but not qualified to be president

Ultimately, that is what socialist policies would do.  Also, the young people that favor this now will be the working folks paying for all these programs in a few years...for their whole working lives.  Easy to say yes to free stuff while your paying little or nothing into it.

Ben Carson honest?

Are you kidding?  Did you not see how many lies he told and has told his entire life?  THAT is exactly why he has been entirely rejected. (and also because he is a dumbass and not very intelligent)

If you need references to his lies, I can provide them. (in case you were unaware)

Honest is the LAST thing Carson should ever be called.

Maybe your right, I don't know him that well.  He appears straight forward in interviews and debates.  Ok, I at least stand by Rand Paul (and Ron too).

I don't think anyone wants to live like this, which is why nobody proposes it but it's not too far from present reality. Neocons in fact love big spending and government. The most aggressive attacks on free speech come from mcarthyite segments persuing "anti-communist" and other crusades. I don't expect these are the examples you had in mind but that's why it's important to actually consider the real world.

If anyone wants to understand what Sanders proposes as "socialism", look up FDR new deal policies and their effects.

“It builds on what Franklin Delano Roosevelt said when he fought for guaranteed economic rights for all Americans.”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franklin_D._Roosevelt
http://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/bernie-sanderss-new-deal-socialism

Finally, nobody likes to mention that the rise of the "welfare state" also coincides with the "golden age of capitalism". Perhaps it's just a coincidence?

I was talking to  some people last night and many people who voted for George W. Bush are actually turning to Bernie Sanders it seems.

Their reasoning was that every Republican running is a clown and Bernie is the only one who is actually honest. You may not like what he's saying, but he tells you how he feels and can explain his position.

To them, his honesty and voting record year after year is what they find commendable about him.

Voting for Bernie, who I agree is an honest guy, is voting for a nanny state where the government cares for you cradle to grave.  In turn, you give up half your salary (or more) if you work and your personal freedoms are limited.  Government will be bigger and more powerful with more rules, regulations and control of your life.  Socialism is a race to being below average.  Socialism is great if you are a low achiever.
Some republicans are not true to their limited government principles, agree, but the majority favor less government intervention over the democrats and certainly more than the socialists.  The libertarians are the people most committed to personal freedom and limited government (Gary Johnson, Ron Paul, Rand Paul).

People that would vote republican and then Sanders either had a complete change in philosophy or just don't know what they believe in or what the hell is going on.  They are philosophically at the opposite ends of the spectrum.

Do you consider Canada, and most European countries below average?

I ask for a couple of reasons.

1. Most of those countries are "socialist" in the regard that Bernie Sanders is.
2. While our Military may be bigger and better than all of theirs, their education is by far and away better than the US.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't like the idea of people taking my money, but why is it ok to take my money and rack up debt for military spending and not anything else?

Why is military spending fine to run on the credit card and research and science are not?

I would rather not rack up any debt, but why is one ok to the Republicans and the other evil?

Personally, I think there are inefficiencies in the military just like any other huge government program.  I would cut spending in many areas since we are now officially 19 trillion dollars in debt.
I understand why we need a strong military, its not only about power but it does help protect the world from dictators and very bad groups/people.  However, we should not be policing the world!

I can't speak a lot for other countries since I have only lived here but I believe strongly that we must preserve upward mobility.  Being able rise up the economic ladder from being poor or middle class to become relatively successful and/or wealthy is the American dream and why many people immigrated here after WW1 and WW2.  Opportunity & freedom from oppressive government rule.  Same with the revolutionary war against England.

Any country that taxes their working people a lot will stifle upward mobility.  Scandanavia is a good example of where it is nearly impossible for an average person to become wealthy.  No, that sucks.  Opportunity, Sacrifice and Reward drive people to do great things, take risks, go the extra mile (like being in school for 12yrs to become a doctor).  Anytime things are just given and not earned, they are not appreciated as much.  Remember, the multi-millionaires and billionaires don't make their money through salary.  having high tax rates on salaried income just hurts the whole spectrum of the working middle class.  I am good with cracking down on traders and hedge fund managers, etc...also good with preventing the ultra wealthy from hiding their money overseas or with fancy accountants.  I am 100% for upward mobility and personal freedom.

Additionally, many of them rely on us to protect them.  Plus we disproportionally fund the UN...why, I have no clue.

Why is military spending fine to run on the credit card and research and science are not?

And yes, I do believe some European countries are average and below average.  They make upward mobility difficult.
Many countries depend on our military to protect them so having a strong military allows them to spend less on their military budget, which is bullshit.  We also disproportionally fund NATO and the UN....why, I don't know.  We are 19 trillion dollars in debt now!

If the education in other countries is so great, why are a huge majority of the world's best and most successful companies American and founded by Americans? Where is the European Apple? Is Ericcson the best your pathetic continent can offer? Where is your Sony or Samsung? What profound contributions have come out of Europe since the intellects left and moved to the States four hundred years ago? Other than Parker chiming in with a BMW comment, I'll expect crickets.

Apple isn't even in the top 10 of the largest companies.

To be honest, the largest percentage of big companies are in China and India because of the number of people they have as a customer base.

Daimler. Volkswagen of course are large. Shell and BP are huge and British.

But overall of the top 50 largest companies. Most are in China.

That's just facts.

The fact also is that the US isn't the best at anything educationally. These are just realities.

I love my country, but it has its problems and the idea that it's just "the liberals" that's caused the problems is myopic and false.

Cmon and try not to be such a fucking moron by talking about "largest company". This is publicly available information. Apple is the world's most valuable company, followed by Google and Microsoft. All of the top ten are US companies. There's a reason why European schools teach their kids to speak English while we're happy if our kid learns Hola como esta from Dora the Explorer. http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/markets/2016/02/02/usa-rules-10-most-valuable-companies/79698014/

Please. You are speaking stupid yourself now.

The most valuable is relative due to whatever the stock market values and can rise and fall.

I specifically said the largest companies.

Here is the list of the largest companies by revenue.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_companies_by_revenue

Please note where Apple is on that list.

I don't think carson is a liar.   I think he's heavily medicated and believes some of these things, some of the time.

good guy, I'd shake his hand and tell him he's an awesome role model for any american.

But poor judgement and just seems to be in a haze.

He's not a bad guy at all.

A little kooky on the whole 6000 year old earth thing, but overall not a bad guy.

I would have liked to see him do better.

I made a bet with someone about a year ago saying that I will bet you and your entire family a nice dinner anywhere you want against you buying dinner for me somewhere that the Republicans nominate a rich white guy.

Look at who is on top.

But I think most of the republican establishment wants Trump out.  They honestly are afraid of him because he has so much support...they need his voters.  Its a really odd election cycle.  A year ago they probably thought Jeb Bush would be leading, he had tons of donation $ from the elites.  He's not even in the top 5.  I think a lot of people liked Carson but when the focus shifted to world affairs and terrorism, his lack of experience made some people look to others. If Rubio or Cruz gets nominated, throw out the old expectation of some older rich white dude.  Your right about Trump, but most of his support is not coming from the establishment elite.  They wasted $ on Jeb.
Regardless of politics, I still like Ben Carson.  The kind of guy I would enjoy having around in general.  I really admire his story and earned success.
