No matter how you calculate the number is still 665,000 not looking for work. Carry on with your delusional "4.9%"
Dude....what you don't realize is the fact that some people aren't looking for work because they DONT WANT TO OR NEED TO LOOK FOR WORK.....many of the people who are part of the 665,000 people you mentioned are out of work because they CHOOSE TO BE.....not all of them are truly unemployed.....many are
pregnant
taking a break from working
quit to take care of children or elderly parents
starting their own business or currently running their own business
collecting UE benefits and purposely don't want to work or waiting for their benefits to run out and will then look for work
on SSI
displaced due to globalization and automation, so their jobs have disappeared
are being supported by a spouse or by parents
have retired
Are mentally ill or physically ill and can't work
also, the massive demography of baby boomers are entering semi-retirement and retirement even though they have years of productive work left
Actually the fact that we have such a low labor participation rate is an indication of how rich we really are as a nation......in any other country these people would probably be starving in the streets and homeless
