I saw the pavers comment on top of a slab and thought "why?" I can't think of any reason to add pavers to a poured slab that will be covered in skirting and I am curious as to why the contractor would do it. the only reason that comes to my mind is adding to the cost.

It was in reference to a driveway and not the home's foundation.

Just finished preliminary inspection. A few decorative accents got damaged in transit but no major issues. There will be 2 more when the home is set up but very excited at being almost done

so far so good. I remember when we got our new home delivered we were finding things that needed to be addressed for about a week after delivery. Take your time, examine every square inch.

It's hard to believe you put your down payment on this home only a few month's ago...December 23. You cannot build a house using the traditional building process in just a little over 2 months. It takes longer then that just to get the permits in some places. It often takes up to 6 months for new construction.

It actually takes about 7 days to build a mobile home. Clayton Homes are built on a huge production line indoors so there's no delays for weather, material, etc. There is However Its not permitted yet until its set on the property and it completes 2 more inspections for plumbing, electrical, etc. The inspection today was the delivery inspection of goods to take care of any cosmetic issues.

Given the 57k price for the home I'd have probably been a bit more extravagant with the land location - but fair enough. I live (rent) in a shithole that is on million dollar land (inner city) and I've lived in better houses further away from work and I'd definitely say the shithole in a great spot is the better.
