All done folks and back home.  Didn't get a car....too many hoodrat Caddies (Looks nice on outside but shitty inside).  Did pull the trigger however on a 95 Jeep Cherokee.  With tax, came to 1125.00.....fair deal in my opinion.  Needs a paint job and window handle cranks but brand new engine, new tranny, tires excellent, and drives fine.....definitely used as a hunting vehicle and I'll likely do the same thing.

Pictures coming soon, Getbiggers.  Will be back down next time to snatch up a car.

never knew you could get one of those with a cherokee

Anyways, congrats

Needs an armrest console and a headliner...about 100 bucks for both items.  Mainly needs vacuuming and cleaning.

Are you going to invest in plastic covering for the seats?

I will tommorrow.  Gotta head back down to pick it up.  Need to put insurance on it, get some gas, and drive it to Fishers for inspection.   Once that's complete, the magic begins to where I start making it look good and ready to put work in.

I hope this works out for you. Junkers that cost what you paid are rarely a good deal. You do realize that jeep you bought is over 30 years old. What's the usual lifespan of an automobile? Like I said, I wish you well with your purchase.

I think it's best to lease cars for 2-3 years. One of the few joys in life when you reach a certain age is a new car. If you have 2 cars on lease you can work it out so you're getting a new one every year or so. You also avoid having to deal with repairs when things start to wear out and the embarrassment of driving around in an old POS

You're not good at math are you??  The engine and the transmission by itself in the jeep is worth about 600 bucks more than I paid for it as they are brand new.  I can part it out and make money if I wanted to.

There is a risk at purchasing at the auction but more benefits.  The vehicle is paid for.  I added it to my insurance policy which added just an additional 55.00 dollars to my 6 month policy....less than 10 bucks a month because I don't need collision with making payments on a vehicle.  In addition, its a Jeep Cherokee Sport, so you can drive anywhere with it...in the woods, hills, etc so there are people that will buy it for hunting season.

Best of all, it makes an epic thread on Getbig.  I normally would not have purchased this vehicle, usually I get cars like Hondas and Toyotas because I can buy them for about 200 and sell them for a quick turnaround.  But if I didn't buy anything, it would have ruined my thread.

Big Lots is good for finding cheap seat covers that are decent looking. You should be able to spruce it up on the cheap.

This is not an epic thread...

If you had any self-awareness you would see the embarrassment in it for you

Doesn't make a difference.  It's a fucking Jeep....not trying to sissy it up.  It's going to be cleaned and some items replaced but that's it.  It's going to the woods and off road...not a coffeehouse

We have guys here who flip million dollar houses.

You try to flip $200 cars.

We aren't really impressed with your money making schemes

fair enough, but have you ever sold on a used car and made a profit from it?

Many a wife will lament Vince's sack and pingón steering of their husbands in the back seat of this sweet ride.
Homewrecking Cherokee of Peace!

I think Goodrum bought the car for business or to sell in on with a profit. However, the ways of the kielbasa are elusive and Goodrum is capable of pulling off devious and unforeseen sexual acts en masse.

Oh yea.  I don't do it that much.  Mostly do estate auctions and flea markets.  But the game plan is to fix it up, clean it out real good, and use it for hauling goods for the tax write-off.  Afterwards, it'll get sold for profit although depending on how it looks when I finish it, I may just keep it.  I still need to get a cruising car but we'll work on that in a few weeks.
