1. It's tough to market someone that nobody heard of.

2. Considering the girl that stopped him is 1.32 Heath's wide, it's unlikely he'd impressive the avg 24/7 gym member attending the spin class.

Phil grunts when he does 25 pound dumbbell curls. That fitness place new his shirt was probably going to also come off at some point in his workout so they did the right thing telling him to find another gym. There's nothing marketable about an angry juiced to the gills bodybuilder in a string tank and water jug walking around in their corporate type gym. We're not living in the 1980's anymore...

It was at midnight, I believe. So marketability wouldn't play into this.

24 hour fitness, as well as every other gym, allows you to train for the day for a price (usually between 10-25 dollars). You can walk into ANY gym in America and train for the day. HOWEVER, they make you sign a release that alleviates them of all responsibility if you get hurt. Thus, they would not let Phil train for the day without signing this release.

So, it has ZERO to do with liability. Something else happened and Phil Cheath is not providing the whole story.

I trained at a 24 hour fitness for the day, as well as other gyms (LA Fitness, Powerhouse, Golds, PF, etc).

24 Hour Fitness isn't a hardcore gym, a Phil Heath mention wouldn't have any meaning. He simply doesn't have the gravitas of a Schwarzenegger or even a Ferrigno, most Mr. Olympias don't. Having physique star xyz plug your gym only really works if they cater to a segment you cater to (or they have tons of cross over attraction), you can set up photos, and you can get a lot of press out of it.

In addition to that, most mainstream gyms deliberately try to avoid the "musclehead" atmosphere. The average Joe does not want to workout next to Ronnie Coleman, despite how awesome many of us may find the experience (I am referring back to when he only had 12 kids).

unless they're not a BBing gym. Or unless their insurance doesn't cover non-members. Or the owner didn't want someone he didn't know, didn't sign up, did'nt know the rules, with zero accountablity, to use his machines.

It may just be insurance and simple policy.
We all know if Phil blows out a rotator cuff because of anything wrong in this gym, he's suing them until they don't have a pot to piss in. If their insurance doesn't cover "walk-ins who just train without signing up", and they don't offer 1-day signups, then Phil is outta luck here.
