While the guy in the car was mainly in the wrong, good for him!!! He was probably just frustrated about all the crappy truck drivers out there who throw around their vehicle like its nothing. I cant count how many times a truck wanted to change lanes and would not even signal. would just switch lanes. I guess they just assume they are going to let you in because they have a huge truck. Its extremely dangerous. Good for this guy!

So because he was wronged one too many times by truckers, he needs to ruin THIS trucker's (who did nothing wrong) day and/or career by causing a collision? This guy is an idiot and I hope he got his license taken away after he pulled this shit.

Personally speaking, I ALWAYS slow up or let truck drivers go in front of me. I am not playing chicken with a 70,000 pound vehicle. My life is more important than my frustration. On the other hand, I totally understand why the driver did what he did. Past behaviors often inform present/future behavior. I bet for this guy it did.

I say leave your ego behind when behind the wheel. Especially when dealing with an 18-wheeler. So I totally agree with you on that, and I'm the same way when it comes to the road. But I still disagree that this guy should have taken his frustration out on an innocent trucker. Maybe he's THE ONE decent trucker on the road who shows his signal every time doesn't cut anyone off, and now he was punished by some redneck douchewaffle because he's sick of truckers merging onto the highway in a way he deems inappropriate (though, again, this trucker did nothing wrong).

when someone with a weak engine tail gates me i ruin their day you can bet on it , slow down do nearly complete stand stil, when they want to over take, keep blocking them etc etc

i do this to public buses too, it's very funny to me

as soon as someone with sub 200hp car or something tries to pressure me, i put on my aviators and bring the pain

No, I am actually not trolling at all. Truck drivers are extremely frustrating. Where I live, they are constantly cutting people off or tailgaiting. Like I said, I value my life more than my frustration. However, I totally understand why the driver did what he did, although it would not be me.

Well, that is why generalizations cause issues because you take out your anger or frustration on those who may not be doing anything wrong based on your preconceived notions. That truck driver could have been one of the good ones. Clearly, the car driver acted out of frustration and anger.

Here in Finland they start to demand mandatory vocational courses from the new truckers, and that start a great debate. The best argument I read was:  "I DIDN'T CHOOSE THIS OCCUPATION BECAUSE I WANT TO WASTE TIME IN EDUCATION!"..

To answer your question, gib, I find myself utterly disgusted with the video. And annoyed as well. There would've LITERALLY ... been NO need for any sort of physical/verbal confrontation if the driver in the car would've either :

A) Slowed down a tad ( see: extending courtesy )
B) Sped up

The driver in the car clearly had negative intentions. Which is rather sad ( imo ).

I would also like to remark on another post of yours, gib, if I may. We truckers are well aware of what exists out here on the road. But perhaps you need to be reminded that we, too, are fathers, brothers, husbands, etc., etc. Believe it or not, but we do take our jobs very seriously.

2. Did the trucker do everything in his power to prevent the accident by his obligation? No, he didn't do fuck to prevent the accident.

we don't know if the trucker did anything to try and avoid the incident, because mr asshole was maintaining his speed to trap the trucker in, if the trucker had sped up or slowed down, no doubt mr dickhead in the van would have done exactly the same.

Ropo, you are clearly looking for an argument of some sort. It's pretty clear to anyone who possesses an IQ over 10, who's at fault here. Whatever deep seeded issues you have with truck drivers, please do not allow it to muddle your logic here in this thread. Thank you.
