Well I didn't mean it like he was a cry baby. I meant that it must hurt to have a poor showing, especially after all the hype that was built up. I don't think Kevin set out to compete just to compete with little regard to how he looked or placed... I do think it matters to Kevin how well he does. It's just like Ronnie in that most of us didn't like how he humiliated himself guest posing a few years after retiring looking so bad.
I don't think Ronnie has a hard time with how he looks. In fact he seems pretty damn comfortable. Seems like a lot of other people do though. People expect Ronnie to look like he used to which is clearly unrealistic. It's nice to see anyone from the older era come on stage as far as I'm concerned. If Lee Haney and Dorian were asked to train for a few months and guest pose knowing full well they are not going to look their best I'd love to see that. We all get older but people seem to get all surprised about it? I talked to Lee Haney about 8 years ago and he was talking about possibly guest posing. Can you imagine the shit he would have gotten if he didn't show up at his best.
As far as Kevin goes lets forget he's 52, the reality is that he trained for 5 months and pretty much started contest dieting from day one. He never had time to gain any real size. OK here I go speculating but it's the truth. Dexter is 5 years younger than Kevin and he's been slamming drugs for well over 25 years. Kevin decides to train for 5 months and you got people saying he's gonna drop dead.

Same with Freeman almost Kevin's age but for the most part never had a break in years. Could Kevin come in bigger? Of course, could his legs regain their past size glory prob not but I'm sure he could muster some more size from them. Kevin was a true freak so he will be judged by his past look. A guy like Dexter doesn't have to be big because he was always judged on his conditioning. Dexter did bring his legs up which is an accomplishment but in reality means nothing as far as the Olympia goes, all it proves is that one can build size to your legs in your later 40's.
I'd love to see Kevin stick around for a few more shows maybe see what he can do in the gym with a true off season but he just may call it quits. Either way I'll shed a nostalgic tear for him not because of how he looked but because of what and who he represented last night and tonight, an era of bodybuilding that is sadly gone forever and in my eyes will be greatly missed.
