People saying he looks dead last and shouldn't be there are crazy, sure hes not going to win or pace high but jeez, they don't make him look like he shouldn't be up there.

a prime levrone would be a sight to see. hes definitely a good 20lbs off

He looks incredibly good. He's standing next to current Olympia competitors. And he still looks great!

One of my pet peeves is people coming up with incorrect complicated theories to try to explain something that is blaringly obvious.

Unti an individual proves it wrong and trains legs just like he did when he was younger then we can assume the reason that legs shrink so badly is that most will continue to train upper body in similar fashion as when younger, especially the exercises in which u lay down or sit such as chest and shoulders.

Of course there r always exceptions and I agree some may be due to nerve damage but that can just as likely happen in the cervical region. And if it were do to nerve damage in Kevin's case u wood see a deformity in one of the muscles of the legs. Kevin has been very blessed and appears to have full muscle bellies all all over just as when he was younger.

In this and most cases it's simply because leg TRAINING is the first to go.

Nonsense, please tell me how the muscle fibres in your legs know they are squatting as opposed to doing a leg extension?
there is a huge difference between the two in terms of leg growth.

Well for one thing; squats build the hamstrings and glutes and the adductors. 3 large muscles that leg extensions don't touch.

We should really be proud of him and supportive ! I watched the live stream last night and the camera work was garbage I couldn't see anything !!!

Seeing these pics really impressed neon him - we are all honest yes legs was the biggest setback - but they didn't look that bad just not up to par with the rest of the pack -

Overall though wow he did great - should of put a good two years of training in

Even if he isn't going to win its a win for him- he said he might do the Arnold or some other majors coming up lets see

Are you just ignoring his legs entirely?  Other than the side chest shot he looks terrible.  He definitely has that "old man in a masters show" look to him.  A bit saggy, waist wider, very weak in the legs and that "I did it guys, I stepped on stage" look on his face.

It's about the amount of muscle fibers that get recruited during the movements. Squats recruit more muscle fibers.

Now that I see all of Kevin's comparison shots I thought he looked fantastic.  Considering the decade plus off and 5-6 months of prep with father time against him....what he did was pretty awesome.

Good on Kevin!

no there isnt, muscles respond to stress, not specific exercises.

what is the purpose of the quadriceps muscle?

Im talking specifically the quads.

I get your point about overall workload, leg press work the overall leg and are just as effective as squats, in fact you have less chance of a low back injury with leg press so I would say leg press is better

He looks fantastic in the chest pose next to Philsulin, but lacking badly and the back and legs. He still looks fantastic though and I'm glad he did this.

Still prefer Levrone's current physique to the others on the stage with the exaggerated out of proportion quad sweeps and distended bellies.

Look at his face too, lean and healthy looking.

He brought a classic style physique to the stage, which is awesome, and for his age and the limited time is in tremendous shape.

Vince Taylor or Arnold would be the ideal prototype of the body that your described

His legs remind me of Franco when he stole the Olympia.
Franco stole the Olympia twice, being the odourous fart Arnold left behind him.

Thats the problem. When your body is to balanced u get boring. When u show up every time every year in great shape...its become a general...thats sad. Dexter is just to balanced...almost boring...nothing that pop! Unfortunately...

Of course he could not beat Phil or be top 5. Anybody who believed that is delusional.
But KL giving it his all and stepping on stage among the current top, creating all this hype and the people loving this hype, rooting for KL and once again looking forward to the mister O is what makes this so great. That is what it is all about. And I bet KL thinks the same way. So I do not understand the disappointment folks.

Hi Phil. Please stop spamming every thread with your copy/paste.

Maybe, but I think you have more chance of a knee injury during leg press.

The seat height/angle position relative to the feet plate varies from brand to brand. I haven't found the perfect brand yet, but I've noticed differences when it comes to lower back stress. BTW, the same goes for hip stress.

I agree with that.

I've noticed leg press puts greater strain on my knees.

Though, for building leg size I also find it more effective.

Aside from legs the upper body looks great imho and he definitely holds his own in side poses as well as the front lat spread. Frankly I would prefer to have Levrone's physique than any of the other overmuscled slugs on the Olympia open class who struggle to walk 5 yards.
