In a memo Tuesday, Fox News vice president of public-opinion research Dana Blanton reminded the network’s talent that online post-debates polls were unscientific and should not be cited in their reporting.

“As most of the publications themselves clearly state, the sample obviously can’t be representative of the electorate because they only reflect the views of those Internet users who have chosen to participate,” said the memo, obtained by Business Insider. Blanton noted that campaigns and supporters often directed people towards such polls in order to skew the results.

“News networks and other organizations go to great effort and rigor to conduct scientific polls — for good reason,” Blanton continued. “They know quick vote items posted on the web are nonsense, not true measures of public opinion.”

The memo comes amid a PR blitz by the Donald Trump campaign to reframe his Monday debate performance as a win. Online post-debate polls from websites like the Drudge Report showed Trump winning by wide margins, while scientific polls showed that voters thought Hillary Clinton trounced Trump.

great post - I just saw that in a 4-way race, Trump was +2 one week ago in Reuters poll.

In today's Reuter's poll, Clinton is +4.   That's a SIX POINT SWING in a poll honest enough to have trump up by 2 last week.

He still hasn't hit 45% in the national poll average, guys.

They actually changed their methodology. The autists were all over it this morning. They went from having like 11-12% more polled Democrats:Republicans to 16%. There is your swing.

Okay.  I'll find other examples of Hilary climbing and trump falling, because it's definitely happening.  I doubt all the polling companies changed methodologies at once.

Trump is cooling.  He peaked 6 weeks too early just like Romney.

There are no scientific polls. They were originally created for political propaganda purposes, and that's still what they are.

The only real poll  is Election Day, and that won't be scientific either.

As Stalin said, " It doesn't matter who votes in an election. The only thing that matters in an election, is who counts the votes."
