How do I get rid of these adds from popping up all over my son's computer? Is there one of those PC cleaning downloads that will work? And the virus, or whatever it is, is from his youtube and game playing, not from me looking at porn; I do that on his ipad.

Clear the history, etc..... then download and run Emsisoft Emergency Kit - http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/ and MalwareBytes - http://www.malwarebytes.com/ . I like those two, as they're not aggressive marketers, and they've caught stuff that others have missed over the years.

Also if he's downloading, I like to run any links or files through - www.virustotal.com for extra piece of mind, granted it only works with smaller ones.

They'll run through the files, etc..... on the computer, and quarantine anything that looks suspicious, giving you the option to delete them all at once or one by one. I just dump them all and restart the computer afterward, and have never had a problem.

You might also wish to consider installing Ad-blocker if you're using Chrome - to stop the pop-ups

1. Install Eset Smart security and apply the child safety lock included in it.
2. Use malwarebytes to get rid of the crap
3. install CCleaner and remove all the left over shit, and fix the registry at least 3 times over.
4. Tell him that his days with porn and warez is gone.

The advice that has already been given is good, however if I were a parent with this issue my response would be clear.  Format and go again.  That's the cleanest way to proceed.  A kid shouldn't have any setup that takes that long to bring back to life.

Install adblocker / uBlock origin on the next chrome.

Also, I would punish him if he is downloading shit to his computer.  I am much better at the internet than him and can acquire anything he needs.  Including warez, pornography etc

I use  MalwareBytes  for malware. is the  Emsisoft  for virus or malware? as everyone these days say their anti virus Chanel malware.

The Emsisoft will do both, that being said, it is slow, and less user friendly than the Malwarebytes.

Go to the control panel, go to uninstall programs, look for adware that's installed

Go to chrome, delete any ad extensions that are installed in settings

I downloaded the Emsisoft Emergency Kit. Ran the program and deleted everything. But I am still getting ads. I don't think it is necessarily a virus; he plays a lot of computer games but doesn't really download much. I also downloaded adblocker for Chrome. Still getting ads.

• you should periodically take the drives out of your computer,
• connect them to a USB dock
• scan them from a different computer for threats

Can't you read?

Or you can download all kind of crap and futile software, which may be adware itself. In fact, you should start by scanning the computer with some reliable online scanner, like F-secure, House Call by Trend Micro or Eset. Don't hesitate to start at least two of those at the same time. When You are sure that there isn't any viruses, continue from stage 1.
