Obama's retaliation for the fake Russian hacking?

Of course not, he doesn't have balls that big, nor the brains to think of such a plan.  He's a stupid pussy.  Too busy getting high and pardoning criminals.

I think USA wouldn't kill Russian ambassador as retaliation.
That seems to be out of options for "normal" countries. Even for abnormal. Diplomatic missions remain quite well respected and untouched.
For a good reason.

I think it is purely because they wish to see Assad overthrown. Therefore, they are happy to support anyone who is willing to do the dirty work. I'm not sure the exact reason as to why they wish to get rid of Assad. It could be down to him being critical of America's pet, Israel. I've also heard that Assad refuses to allow a pipeline being built across Syria which stems from Saudi.
Assad gave an interesting interview following Trump's victory. He's seems aware of the power held by lobby groups in the US.

The latter makes more sense. Why else would the Russians give a shit about Assad?

It wasn't a nation that killed him though. It was an individual. Russia's role in assisting Assad will unfortunately, make Russian diplomats (and Russia in general) a target for terrorists.

Russia generally appear to be quite friendly with the Shia Muslim nations and groups. Assad, Iran and Hezbollah are all on good terms with Putin. It's also worth noting that when the uprising began in Syria, many Chechen Islamists travelled to Syria to fight with the rebellion (or join IS). Russia may have so it as an opportunity to get rid of their own terrorists by assisting the Syrian government.

Putin is much admired by Shia Muslims.

Yes, that's correct.

A naïve mentality that if we overthrow these dictators, Jeffersonian democracies would spring up.

The reality is that they tried turning chicken sh!t into chicken salad with the typical results.

You nailed it. The US has to get out the regime changing business. When we supported the over throw in Egypt they got the Muslim Brotherhood in and they promptly when on a killing spree of Christians. When we gave 500 million in arms to the resistance rebels in Syria look at the result. ISIS has those arms and Syria's cities are destroyed.  Libya is another country that is in chaos because of American intervention.  Muslims don't want western democracies. They need dictators to keep the savages in line.

After seeing  the prison life scenes in Midnight Express, I've never liked Turkey or wanted to visit.

Midnight Express movie was made by Armenian, even the actors were from Armenia...purpose was to show Turkey as bad as possible

Meeting of Iranian, Turkish and Russian foreign ministers went on today in Moscow as planned. Syria was on agenda.

RUSSIA, IRAN AND TURKEY PUSH FOR SYRIA PEACE PLAN WITHOUT US OR UN

McFaul: 'Not a Good Thing' for U.S. to Be Left Out of Russia-Iran-Turkey Peace Talks

http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/susan-jones/mcfaul-not-good-thing-us-be-left-out-russia-iran-turkey-peace-talks

Former U.S. Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul described Tuesday's meeting in Moscow as a "very strange combination to be talking about peace in Syria."

The fact that the United States was not there "is not a good thing, in my view," McFaul told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Tuesday.

I believe if a foreign power invaded america ala Red Dawn, Americans would not act any differently than the Muslims do.

Hmmm - you would hope not.
Though it's very likely they would.

LOL

Like any American or European would want to live in the Middle East.

Conversely, if you held a green card lottery in the Middle East, even in the absence of war, there would be tens of millions of applicants.

The Middle East is a shithole. Outside interventions just stir the shit:

The couple of big numbers are in oil rich countries with tiny populations:

Regarding the Middle East, I'm as non-interventionist as they come, but let's not pretend these countries would be paradises were it not for outsiders.

Syria under Assad is a Socialist shithole with per capita GDP on par with an African country:

http://www.tradingeconomics.com/syria/gdp-per-capita

The Gross Domestic Product per capita in Syria was last recorded at 1700.39 US dollars in 2010. The GDP per Capita in Syria is equivalent to 13 percent of the world's average. GDP per capita in Syria averaged 1147.70 USD from 1960 until 2010, reaching an all time high of 1700.39 USD in 2010 and a record low of 563.07 USD in 1960.

No they're not. Arabs are a difficult and volatile breed...and that's between each other. Islam spread through wars anyway, so all this jihad is just muslims doing what they always did. Add to it western meddling and fuck ups and the problem is made worse.

So you support the American/EU backed, armed, and trained, rebels?

http://www.nationalreview.com/article/438605/hillary-clinton-wikileaks-benghazi-scandal-arm-syrian-rebels-al-qaeda-isis-libya-turkey

Are you planning an oil pipeline through Syria as well?

And why are you sympathizing with terrorists?

Do have the urge to drive a truck through large crowds?

Who the fuck said I support the US' efforts, it's all bullshit smoke and mirrors. Assad an Putin have both done fuck all at stopping ISIS. Who pays? Civilians, many of whom are children, that is the bottom line. All these so called leaders are lying scum who do nothing unless it bets them something

You're wrong. IS have suffered heavy losses over the past few years because of Putin and Assad. They are now barely clinging onto the territory they hold and struggle to make advancements. Civilians are bound to get killed in a warzone. You seem to talk as though such things can be easily avoided. They can't.
