I suppose that sort of sums up a lot of it for sure. But there's other things like self confidence, assertiveness, etc. that are also attractive (if alpha females are your thing).
Of course, since I didn't know them before they started it is entirely possible that this was the way they already were, and it was nothing to do with the stuff.... cause and effect, you know...
Thinking about them has made me realise that I'd be interested to see which fork in the road they ended up going down, i.e. Massino vs Rutkowski vs 'normal' dumpy housewife.
