Absolutely. There is a minimum age required, why not a maximum? Also term limits should apply at every level. No exceptions.

I completely agree with you on both counts there should be age and term limits. What's the point of electing someone who may not live another 4 years?

Re term limits for House and Senate, it requires a constitutional amendment.  They won't vote against their interests.

They would if the people demanded it.

I’m sure that “Winnie” can explain in frank and explicit detail exactly how TRUMP’S "FIRST" Presidential term has negatively impacted her career/life more than her 2001 arrest for shoplifting.

As attractive as I find her to be, I sincerely hope she gets the virus and suffers greatly.  Fuck that entitled bitch to hell.  For that matter, Hollyweird should contract it en masse and just wither away.  Starting with Brad Pitt, that fuckwit moron, aka Mr. 45 Seconds, here's to all the cuckolded actors and actresses getting the virus and checking out.  They HATE the USA and promised to leave if Trump became President.

Abdul-Jabbar Steps Up Attack On Trump, Compares Prez to Nazis in Hunters Series
newsbusters.org ^ | 3/23/2020 | Jay Maxson

NBA legend and Trump hater supreme Kareem Abdul-Jabbar leveled a double-barreled attack on the president in recent days. In The Guardian, he claimed the NBA is providing a patriotic response to the pandemic, but President Trump is promoting his own self interests. In The Hollywood Reporter, Abdul-Jabbar says the president reminds him of the Nazi's exploiting people of color in the Amazon streaming series Hunters.

Abdul-Jabbar also promotes former President Barack Obama as a beloved leader and savages Trump as a leader forming a legacy of shame.

"The Nazis in Hunters are powerful people in business and government, devoted to protecting only those they deem worthwhile humans," Abdul-Jabbar writes. "The government’s early response to coronavirus was not a Nazi conspiracy, but it was 'Nazi-adjacent,' meaning that the same attitudes regarding race and class were being employed in determining who’s worthy of government protection. Despite the limp efforts of Pence and his administration lackeys to now praise Trump for his mythological early and decisive actions, his actual failure as a leader will forever be Trump’s legacy of shame."

I don't know about term limits being the answer but I do know that the 2 year House of Rep terms are not working.  They legislate (somewhat) for about a year and then the focus shifts to re-election strategies.

I'd propose something like this:

House seats are for 4 year terms.  4 term limit.

Senate seats are to remain 6 year terms.  3 term limit.

President will remain 4 years terms.  3 term limit.

No more pensions and lifetime benefits.  If they want to use their salaries while in office to contribute to a 401 and benefits when they retire, more power to them. Most of them don't need the $175,000 per year salaries so let them parlay that money into retirement or benefit accounts.  Also, for however many years they serve, they must wait an equal number of years before becoming lobbyists.

Top hospital exec fired after saying Trump supporters with COVID-19 should give up ventilators and die
Theblaze ^ | 3/29/2020 | chris enloe
Posted on 3/29/2020, 10:57:30 PM by bitt

A top medical executive at a Buffalo hospital was fired this weekend after demanding that supporters of President Donald Trump renounce ventilators if they become critically ill with coronavirus.

In a Facebook exchange, Laura Krolczyk, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center's now former vice president for external affairs, wrote, "Trump supporters need to pledge to give up their ventilators for someone else ... and not go to the hospital."

Krolczyk also said Trump supporters should "barricade themselves" inside churches to ride out the coronavirus.

"Also don't cash your stimulus check. It's all a hoax. Chew some ibuprofen and be on with your day," Krolczyk wrote of Trump supporters.

Krolczyk was initially placed on administrative leave, but was later terminated over the comments, according to the Buffalo News.

Roswell Park released the following statement announcing Krolczyk's termination, WGRZ-TV reported:

This employee was terminated today [Saturday] after our Human Resources team concluded its investigation. We followed standard procedure, which required that we gather and verify relevant information before taking any disciplinary action.

Dr. Johnson and her team responded with swift and appropriate action. We have always been and continue to be a center serving everyone who needs us. That is core to our mission, our culture and the experience our patients and families can expect every day.

This behavior is not tolerated at Roswell Park. If any team members act in a way that does not accord with that commitment, we will take swift and appropriate action, just as we did in this instance. Krolczyk earned $226,580 in compensation in 2019, the Buffalo News reported.

Krolczyk previously worked for Hillary Clinton and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.).

MSNBC's Chris Hayes ripped for suggesting initial death toll projections were inflated for Trump victory lap
The Hill ^ | 04 09 2020 | Joe Concha
Posted on 4/9/2020, 12:00:38 PM by yesthatjallen

MSNBC's Chris Hayes was ripped on social media for suggesting that the White House coronavirus task force team "rolled out the model showing 100k deaths after they knew it would be less" so President Trump could take a victory lap.

"The most cynical interpretation of all this, one I can't quite bring myself to accept, is they rolled out the model showing 100k deaths after they knew it would be less than that so they could anchor everyone to that # and take a vicotry lap when "only" tens of thousands died," Hayes wrote to his 2.1 million followers on Wednesday night.

The tweet came after a key forecasting model created by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington reduced its prediction of coronavirus deaths in the U.S. The model now estimates a peak of 60,415 deaths by early August. Less than a week ago, it had predicted more than 93,000 deaths and on Sunday it projected more than 81,000.

Criticism quickly followed the post, with some people pointing out that Hayes's comment was "a direct indictment" of task force medical experts including Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Deborah Birx, who have used the IHME model for their projections. Fauci told Fox News on Wednesday that original death toll projections "are going to be downgraded" due to successful social distancing mitigation efforts.

CNN coronavirus town hall accidentally features Trump Derangement Syndrome question

CNN "fell asleep at the switch" during a coronavirus town hall on Thursday when a viewer's question about Trump Derangement Syndrome made it onto live television.

As Anderson Cooper, Dr. Sanjay Gupta and CDC Director Robert Redfield answered questions from viewers, CNN’s on-screen graphics at one point included the question, “Is Stage 4 TDS considered an underlying morbidity?”

The question, attributed to James Fox, was only on the screen for a few seconds and Cooper did not ask Gupta and Redfield to address it.

New Jersey professor responds to backlash after ‘F--- each and every Trump supporter’ comment
By Dom Calicchio | Fox News

A professor at a New Jersey university doubled down Thursday, saying she's tenured, after blaming President Trump and his supporters for the impact of the coronavirus outbreak, claiming it’s their fault African-Americans have been dying at a disproportionate rate.

“F--- each and every Trump supporter. You absolutely did this. You are to blame,” were among the comments – several of them containing profanity – posted on Twitter this week by Brittney Cooper, an associate professor in the Department of Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies at Rutgers University.

"I said what I meant. And I curse cuz I'm grown," she wrote in part in a series of tweets Thursday, adding, "I have tenure. Rutgers won't be firing me for tweets."

In another post, Cooper wrote that she and other African-Americans suspect that recent efforts to reopen the country following stay-at-home orders were “all about a gross necropolitical calculation that it is Black people who are dying disproportionately from COVID.”

“Not only do white conservatives not care about Black life,” she wrote, “but my most cynical negative read of the white supremacists among them is that they welcome this mass winnowing of Black folks in order to slow demographic shifts and shore up political power.”

Last week, Dr. Anthony Fauci, a member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, said during an online interview that high coronavirus death rates among African-Americans were largely attributable to pre-existing health conditions that are common in the black community, such as hypertension, obesity, diabetes and asthma.

"It’s really terrible, because it’s just one of the failings of our society, that African-Americans have a disproportionate prevalence in incidents of the very comorbid conditions that put you at a high risk,” Fauci told actor Will Smith, who conducted the interview.

In another post, Cooper claimed Trump supporters’ loyalty to the president impaired their judgment about the outbreak.

“They are literally willing to die from this clusterf---ed COVID response rather than admit absolutely anybody other than him [Trump] would have been a better president,” she wrote. “And when whiteness has a death wish, we are all in for a serious problem.”

Coronavirus impact on African American communitiesVideo
'Depths of white depravity'
Five days earlier, on April 23, Cooper wrote about “the depths of white depravity,” claiming whites refused “to be swayed by facts, reason or the value of life itself, especially when those lives are Black.”

“It staggers me,” Cooper wrote.

Cooper has a history of criticizing President Trump. Last October she asserted the president’s policies were partly to blame for weight problems among African-American women. Last August, she claimed Trump was willing to “get us into war” to keep the economy strong to bolster his 2020 reelection hopes.

She is the author of “Eloquent Rage: A Black Feminist Discovers Her Superpower,” which The Guardian ranked among its “Top 10 Books About Angry Women,” according to Amazon.

Obituary blames Trump and governor for man’s COVID-19 death
dnyuz.com ^ | August 4, 2020
Posted on 8/7/2020, 1:00:44 PM

A man from Texas died from COVID-19 on July 22 — and the obituary his wife wrote for him has now gone viral. In the obituary for David W. Nagy, published in the small local newspaper the Jefferson Jimplecute, his wife, Stacey Nagy blames his death on President Trump and Texas Governor Greg Abbott.

“David’s death was needless,” his wife, Stacey Nagy, wrote. “The blame for his death and the deaths of all the other innocent people, falls on Trump, Abbott and all the other politicians who did not take this pandemic seriously and were more concerned with their popularity and votes than lives.”

She also said others are to blame: “the many ignorant, self centered and selfish people who refused to follow the advice of the medical professionals, believing their ‘right’ not to wear a mask was more important than killing innocent people.”

“Dave did everything he was supposed to do, but you did not. Shame on all of you, and may Karma find you all!” she wrote.

Nagyn said her husband died at age 79 in the ICU at Christus Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview, Texas, and that he “suffered greatly from the ravages of the COVID-19 virus and the separation from his much loved family who were not allowed at his bedside.”

He is survived by his wife and five children, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends, according to the obit.

Stacey Nagy confirmed via Facebook that she wrote the obituary and submitted it to the Jefferson Jimplecute, CBS affiliate KYTX reports. Her words reached people far from Jefferson, Texas, after a photo of the newspaper clipping was shared online.

In an interview with fact-checking website Snopes, Nagy said she was glad the obituary was seen widely because she wanted to get her message out.

“It gets me so angry that people are aren’t taking this seriously,” she told Snopes. “The people who are dying are the older people especially — a lot of younger people are dying too — but it’s almost like they’re saying, ‘Who cares about the older people?’ I’ve been with my husband for 20 years and all of a sudden he’s gone. People should know how this makes others feel.”

She said in the interview that she’s seen many people in her town failing to wear face masks and she expressed anger that the pandemic has been politicized.

Due to visitor restrictions implemented in hospitals, Nagy couldn’t be with husband in person before he died and the last time she saw him was through a see-through barrier. He was unconscious, she told Snopes.

“I miss my husband dearly,” she said in the interview. “I’m taking one day at a time to just try to keep going. When I wrote that thing it was because of him. I don’t want his death just to disappear. I wrote that and partially, it keeps him alive for me.”

CBS News has reached out to Stacey Nagy and will update with any response.
