Good for you. You mention four leagues not just one. The NFL is pretty much within the United States with the exception of a couple of games played in the U.K. with intent of growing in Europe. Soccer is still the biggest sport in the world, MLB and organized pro baseball is pretty much world wide as well as the NHL and hockey in general. I haven't done the math and I'm in no mood too look it up but based on your gaming number you might be a little behind. But, hey. Kids aren't pro athletes and most would rather sit around and pretend what they could be instead of actually doing what it takes.
I don't say "ta ta" it sounds pretentious but hey, you think you're better than everyone so I'll just say....bye.
So I used 4 leagues.
I sure did.
Let's look at them individually shall we?
NFL - 13 Billion
MLB - 9.5 Billion
NHL - 3.3 Billion
MLS - 536 Million
Now I know math isn't your strong suit, but if you add all of those up, you get ~26.3 Billion
Hmm... Let's add in NBA.
NBA- 5.5 Billion.
We are at 31.8 Billion now.
Now we didn't add ALL of FIFA, which is worldwide soccer as you mentioned.
Let's see... In 2013, FIFA had total revenue of 1.3 Billion... I'll go ahead and give you a 100% growth in 3 years (Not accurate, but to help you out since you think sports are it)
So we add that 1.3 Billion to 31.8 Billion (Approximate) and we get...
33.1 Billion dollars!!!
Not even HALF of the global videogame revenue in the world.
Damn.
Interesting.
Pro Athletes play video games. Video games aren't just kids in basements... You don't get revenue of 90 Billion in an entertainment category by being a niche market.
You download a stupid candy crush game on your phone? Thanks for contributing.
"Ta Ta" may sound pretentious to you, but to everyone else it's just a blow off of your once again proven lack of knowledge.
You don't even know about the revenue of the sports you claim to love... I just had to educate you.
For a little extra kick in your sack.
Revenue at the 2015 global box office crossed $38 billion for the first time in history... So even adding all of the Hollywood box office to your sports (They are all just entertainment after all), the number still doesn't quite reach up to Video Games.
It's closer though.
