Mark Bell and Joe Marino both worked with the local high school kids on their strength and conditioning.

I'd include teacher or something similar that was an actual paying job where the person had some real regular responsibility and had to grind it out.  While laudatory, a little community service wouldn't make the cut in my mind.

Not on the same level as the guy who collects piss samples for probation or the community center janitor but I thought I would toss into the thread the best I could.

Effort appreciated, just trying to avoid the eventual argument that "bouncers" and security guards are public servants.  That would open it up too much.  Although Larry Opiela's stint as HeMan at Universal Studios was certainly a public service.

I believe none of these guys are actually on the beat if they're highly successful in their hobbies or pastimes. That is, I believe at one time, they had a full schedule, but then once they become successful in Strongman or bodybuilding, they get a flexible schedule, possibly a sedentary position, or whatever else to keep their around-the-clock eating and training going.

Does anyone think Ronnie Coleman would risk his Olympia prep by actually working, let alone a job in which he can get injured and can fuck up his schedule without a second's notice?

There are still guy's who think this guy had a real cop's schedule while doing all this shit at the end. LMAO!

Since it's opening up a bit, here are 4 others -

Dave Waddington, the first man to squat #1000 in competition (though later called unofficially first due to a judging snafu) and an early WSM contestant is a city commissioner in Sandusky, Oh, and has been for a pretty long time.

Bill Seno was a school teacher in Chicago for decades. He was a pretty well known bodybuilder and powerlifter of the 1960's - early 70's.

------------------------

Oliver Sacks, the famous neurologist, was a very strong California powerlifter for a time -

.

.

--------------------------------------

Paul Anderson, of course had the Paul Anderson Youth Home for the disadvantaged, which he kept open with help of his overall lifting fame - http://www.payh.org/ .

Respect for that old bastard squatting 600.  Know of his books, knowing he also squatted 600 back in the day while interning kicks up my respect to a new level.
