3) Kai is not competing nor participating in the event

I'm no expert regarding this subject matter but ...... it appears that this will simply be another form of a Powerlifting event/federation.

Dorian is the Super League president and as far as I am aware he is also closely associated with the IFBB and most likely would do nothing to discredit that association.

And since the NPC nor the IFBB have nothing at all to do with weight lifting events or competitions, it appears that  there is no conflict between the IFBB/NPC and the Super League.

The Super League website is a bit confusing (maybe I'm just not reading it correctly) but on my next input I will post some major points regarding this new ....Powerlifting Federation ????!!

At present there are approximately 30 National/International powerliftingfederations, so this new Super League may be of interest  for the many powerlifting enthusiasts on this here GetBig Board.

If I am correct in assuming that this Super League is simply a new  powerlifting federation with more events and judging criteria, I fail to see why there would be any IFBB problem for Kai to join this League as a member, an official, a contestant, or simply as an observer.

I are dumb and cannot fully comprehend the Super League details as explained on its website .... but here are some of the major points as so stated on that website.

The Super League will promote a Super League event in  Las Vegas on 09/16/2017. I assumer further details will follow.

Dorian Yates is the Super League President
Gal Ferreira is a League Official
Stan Efferding is a League Official

It appears that the contest will consist of the following cut and paster events:

1. Plate Loaded Squat (by Arsenal)
2. Plate Loaded Leg Extension (by Super League)
3. Rack Deadlifts (by Sorinex)
4. Lat Pulldowns (by Arsenal)
5. Dumbbell Curls (by jBells)
6. Incline Dumbbell Flys (by jBells)
7. Standing Shoulder Press (by Super League)
8. Plate Loaded Dips (by Arsenal)

I have no idea what the following is all about but it does appear to be interesting:

Originally designed by the U.S. Military for weapons manufacturing, three dimensional extrusion (3DX) is advanced laser measurement technology that is accurate to within 100 microns. Now being applied to fitness athletes, it is the new gold standard for the industry.

The weight classes:
(M) Super Heavyweight – 240 pounds and over
(M) Heavyweight – 220 to 239 pounds
(M) Cruiserweight – 200 to 219 pounds
(M) Light Heavyweight – 180 to 199 pounds
(F) Middleweight – 140 to 150 pounds
(F) Lightweight – 130 to 139 pounds
(F) Featherweight – 120 to 129 pounds
(F) Angelweight – 119 pounds and below

The following does appear to describe some form of a bodybuilding event and was a response to the question "Do I have to be ripped and dehydrated? Ripped, yes. Dehydrated, no. Every athlete must find the right balance of achieving the best possible Deltas, while maintaining maximum output. The lighter the bodyweight the better the OQ, and the smaller the waist the better the 3D Score. This is a real sport. Using bodybuilding prep as a reference point – between 4 to 6 weeks out condition.

So as it is explained above the bodybuilding (composition???) event appears to be of importance in some predetermined formula to decide how one gets placed in the powerlifting event.

Can I spray my body and do a stage routine?
No! Go elsewhere. Probably your local pageant. (This appears to be a derogatory answer.)

Do I have to wear an expensive outfit or little posing trunks?
No. The only requirements are Nike compression shorts and Nike shoes. Men may compete shirtless and women may compete with a Nike sports bra. Other supplement and apparel clothing may require League approval. (Nike a sponsor?)

DO athletes have to appear at two separate events such as prejudging and finals? No. Your maximum time at the event will be four hours, and you will receive a schedule two weeks prior to the competition. All athletes are also provided two live tickets if you choose to spectate before and after your rounds.

Do friends and family have to pay to watch the competition? No. All events are live streamed for free on www.bodybuilding.com. Limited live seating is also available for purchase at each Championship Event.

DO I have to pay fees every year to compete? No. Athletes only pay one lifetime fee of $99 to join Super League. There is an entry fee to participate in each of the Championship Events unless you are sponsored by one of our partners.

How do I join Super League? Anyone can compete in Super League by sending us an application via the contact form. After our first event, there will be two ways to turn pro – neither of which involve local shows, pro qualifiers, or years of traveling to get your “pro card”.

1. GET DRAFTED BY THE LEAGUE. As determined by the League Council Dorian Yates, Erin Stern, and Stan Efferding – pro athletes must simply exhibit the following:
– The characteristics of a great physique (3D score)
– The ability to create exceptional output in the gym (OQ)
– A positive presence on social media
– Athletic accomplishment is helpful, but not required

2. BEAT A PRO TO BE A PRO. You can achieve professional status by posting a SuperScore that cracks our world rankings. Official score registration will be available in the Las Vegas Arena on the 1st Saturday of each month, beginning in August 2017. A qualifying score grants you pro status, and the ability to compete in any Championship Event.

Interesting!!!! How many GetBiggers will be entering?

If you can provide more information, pls do so!

Has anyone heard of any rumors of animosity that may have ocurred between Yates and the IFBB?

I don't believe that anything has occured but it is interesting to hear that Super League will be promoting a non-IFBB-sanctioned event the same weekend as the Olympia ...... if such an event is actually happening.

To the best of my knowledge ... Yates has always had a close and friendly association with the IFBB and the people within the IFBB.

AND ... Based on the SL website, it does not appear that a bodybuilding event will be promoted .... but one's body "condition" / "composition" may be a factor in computing the scores of the lifting events.

At first sight the new Super League appears to be a Strength and Stamina event with no official sanctioning body other than the Super League itself.

It appears to have taken Powerlifting one step further and does not appear to be in any conflict with the IFBB other than it is holding an event the same weekend as the O. (If that event date is a fact?).

Can someone refer me to the site concerning the SL event that will be held the same weekend  as the "O"?

So somebody mentioned in another thread that Kai Greene will be in Vegas on Olympia weekend (this weekend) not for the Olympia, but to promote the Super League.

And maybe this topic has already been beaten to death (I've been away from getbig for a few years and I'm too lazy to scroll back to threads from weeks or months ago)...but doesn't this new venture look like the most boring thing imaginable?  I mean, even more boring that your typical bodybuilding show.  It's like miniature golf--it's fun when you're actually doing it, but nobody in their right mind is going to pay to watch somebody else doing it.  Or am I wrong?  Please share your thoughts.  Thank you.
