Last week Trump's comments and rhetoric about a crazy man dropping a nuke on the US were too harsh and unpresidential.

This week his comments about a bunch of clowns wearing bike helmets and hitting each other with sticks were far more important and needed to be more harsh and less presidential.

Things are a bit more complicated than that. Even if you assume that South Korea would be ok with a war that would leave Seoul devastated and obliterate large industrial facilities on which South Korea's economy relies, there's another wrench in the works—or rather two:

China and Russia. Do you think China will allow the armistice to end and war to resume? A war that would, inevitably end up with the annexation of North Korea's land by the South? A war in which America would be dropping bombs (including, potentially, tactical nuclear weapons) next to China's borders?

And don't forget Russia. You think they'll stand idle instead of trying to use this situation to their advantage?

Long story short: I very much doubt a war with North Korea will happen for the simple reason that such an outcome is not in anyone's interest. But then again, considering the current leadership on both sides...

Based on what would really happen...the North would have about 12 minutes to fire on Seoul before most of his artillery he had in range of the northern part of the city went away. Most of that part of the city is full of Chinese and diplomats...not gonna be a big favorite of the ChiCOMs after that but in any event it won't be good but not horrible. Much of their industry is not in Seoul and not in range initially. The Chinese won't allow ROK or US Troops on the border so they will invade and set up a 200KM buffer zone with camps. We'll only go as far north as the far side of NK capital if we cross at all. None of this is good but if you have to go to war it won't as devastating as the MSM paints it. But they blinked so we'll see what happened.
