Is David Henry doing the Colorado Pro?
« on: April 10, 2006, 05:54:42 PM »
Dan Solomon said tonight that he was.  If so, that's a HUGE name to enter who would win it all.  Many people liked him to win the Ironman and he's definitely due for a Pro Win this year.

Lift/Shawn- can you guys confirm D Henry will be doing the show?

It's a 6 month lease on the Hummer. Personally, I wouldn't mind a 6 second Hummer.

Has it been established that the Hummer is 100% paid for tax and license included.  Or is it just leased like most contests do.  What dealership donated it or it was bought from.  I have to go back and look at the poster.

Shawn said a few months back that the Hummer will be given away.  It cost $29k and the winner will keep it.

I even took a screenshot of his statement, as it was a pretty big announcement that it wasn't a lease.

From what I understand it is beig given away to one of the fans.  I truly think this money would have helped get more competitors if it was used to up the prize money and pay for the pros expenses.  I was wondering do other pro shows pay the expenses of the pros.  I am sure they get per diem.

I'm a big fan of Dave's but he can't beat Phil Heath if Phil's in shape.

There was supposed to be a raffle.

Anyone with a ticket to the show would then have a chance of winning it.

Yeah you seem qualified to be giving out advice on how to run a show.  ::)

The H3 is being given away to one luck fan. Anyone can win and it is their's to keep, it is NOT leased. I believe they are responsible for taxes, but who is going to turn down a $30k vehicle because they have to pay $5k in taxes? The prize money is already the highest behind the Olympia and Arnold.

Good move,  you could have used the money it cost for the Hummer to increase prize money or at least pay the expenses of the pros and leased the Hummer.  Good call.  How much is the exact prize money and the breakdown.  highest behind the ASC and Olympia isn't saying much.  You make it sound like you are giving away allot of cash, but in reality about $40,000.  That doesn't say much for the IFBB that has been around for 40 years to have shows that give their competitors a decent cash purse or even pay for their expenses.  When you are a pro you should get certain things paid for and definitely travel and hotel and per diem are included.  If not then what is the difference between an amateur competing except for the prize money.  They are treated no different.  Good call again Other than that have a great show ::)

Sounds like a great event Shawn. It's good to see more major shows be developed. It forces shows like the Olympia that have been going down the last few years to hopefully get back on track.
