Go4. As an active participant in the SPORT of bodybuilding will you help me convince some of these unconvinceable GetBiggers that bodybuilding is NOT dead?
The majority of NPC contests are drawing more competitors and fans than they ever have before.
Before .... 12 - 30 competitors.
Now ....... Numbered in the 100's.
And now the IFBB Pro League and the NPC will be spreading worldwide.
Where is the death in that?
Your inside and expert opinion as an NPC competitor would be appreciated.
Thats a difficult question to answer, are there more people competing? Sure, but how many of those are actually competing in bodybuilding? The numbers are coming in the Mens Physique and bikini, because any guy with a set of abs, or girl who is skinny with a nice ass can enter (myself included). So is "bodybuilding" more popular or competing in "bodybuilding shows" more popular? Are "bodybuilders" making more money? I would say definitely not, the days of big contracts are gone. Bodybuilding Magazines are dead, bodybuilding forums are dead.
But if you are a promoter it definitely isn't dead, these guys are laughing all the way to the bank. If you are a "guru" you are definitely making money, way more then any bodybuilder with the exception of a handful of guys. Are supplement companies making money, I'm sure they still are, and they don't have to shell out big contract anymore. Sure some social media fitness personalities are making some money, but how many of those guys actually compete? And if they do compete is it in bodybuilding? So it's a difficult question to answer. Yes "competing" is more popular, but actual bodybuilding I think is on the decline and it has been for awhile.
