I'm guessing this is the plot.

Rocky doesn't think he can defeat him at first and tells Creed Jr to avoid that fight.

Creed Jr feels he needs to prove himself + getting revenge for his father so he takes the fight.

Rocky wont train him so Creed Jr trains with another team for the fight (Thus, the "Loyalty"-song)

Creed Jr gets spanked bigtime.

Creed Jr pleads to Rocky to train him, Rocko finally caves in and brings Gianfranco4It to help Creed Jr with the footwork and cruiseship-techniques.

Creed Jr gets his revenge in the end, knocking out Drago Jr and redeeming himself.

End credits-scene, Apollo Creed looks down on Creed Jr from heaven and tips his fedora. Kevin hart flies down on cherub-wings and toots his horn in Creed Jr's ear.

Finally saw it last night.

SPOILER ALERT:

It was entertaining, worth watching once if you're a Rocky fan.

My personal observation from this and all other Rocky movies:  Balboas are very tough, Dragos are very tough, but Creeds...not so much:

Papa Drago literally killed papa Creed.  Kiddo Drago nearly killed kiddo Creed, easily beat him and knocked him out in 1st fight.  Kiddo Drago broke kiddo Creed's ribs with one punch in 1st fight, then broke same ribs again in 2nd fight.  Kiddo Drago could never be knocked out.  He's one big, tough SOB.



I've always loved the Rocky movie scores.  The score from 1st Creed movie was forgettable.  This one is the only song I kinda liked in the Creed 2 score:
